This is to everyone. For all those that have a loss of memory, lets say, 4-10 gigs, and are wondering where it went, and you have unninstalled all unneeded programs, check your Temp file, anything that needs another program to work, or uses the internet to check what type of file it is, erase it. Everything starting from 0001 to ZZZZ. it WILL clear up alot of space, and it WILL make your comp go faster.

Disclaimer: I, Michael Vilca, am in no way forcing you to erase this stuff off of your computer. If your computer crashes, doesn't work, or goes even slower, you will not hold me responsible. You erase files off your computer at YOUR OWN RISK!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's why you always copy and paste a file you're tampering with BEFORE tampering. That way, if something goes wrong you can either swap it, do a system restore, reinstall, etc.

Internet Explorer isn't that great to begin with. Mozilla Firefox is decent, so is Opera (though Opera isn't as compatable with all websites). IE is just a giant Bullseye for Spyware, Adware, Worms, and Viruses. As for a Virus, it generally isn't that lethal. Tear apart everything concerning IE, run a Virus Scan, Quarantine/Delete the file, and reinstall IE if you -really- are attached to it.

IMO, I don't think it matters what Anti-Virus software you have, just as long as you have some kind of it. I've heard some good things about McAffee though, so you should be in good hands anyways....

McAfee is great, though it's absolutely beautiful to run it with Norton Internet Security/Antivirus. However, for the most part those programs never save you from Adware/Spyware. Get something like Zone Alarm's searcher (so you can manually kill the extra hard to find ones) and Adaware (Lavasoft's easy way to kill the most annoying Adware/spyware nightmares).

Alright now..>Here's the story...

Im watching FF7AC right? Well, theres this one awesome scene I see and I just HAD to get a screen shot, so I prt scrn it, btw I was watching the movie on VLC player. Anyways, after I prt screen that scene, I want to go to photoshop to save it, etc. But when I paste it, The area where the movie was playing is just black, so I dont have the screen shot of the area I wanted it to be *the movie*.

Is there anyway to get around that and to prt scrn it without killing the screenie? Cause I really, really need that pic for a sig stock before I become un-inspired again XD

Most Computers have the Program "Windows Movie Maker." Simply import the Movie onto that, move onto the desired frame, and press the Camera Button to take an image of it.

For everything that is sacred! Augh, my DVD/CD Rom isn't working. It states that the Drivers are missing or corrupted, and I have not a freaking clue what to do. I've downloaded the drivers to my exact model and installed them but to no avail. Anyone have any other ideas on what I could do?

I'm not sure how the Staff or Members feel about this topic, but I figure it's a better solution than sitting around hoping someone will know what to do about my DVD/CD ROM Drivers. As some may have learned, my DVD/CD Drivers were virus raped early September out of the blue, and no matter attempts I have made to rectify the situation, nothing seems to be working. Thus, I am asking for many people to help me (I suggest you have some form of Firewall/Antivirus) download No CD Cracks. I am in no way condoning Piracy of Software or anything of the kind. If it comes to it, I will go to the extent of buying a Camera to show my Legit copies of the listed Software. I am currently looking for No CD Cracks for the following:

Morrowind (It must work with Tribunal and Bloodmoon), and Starcraft: Broodwar (must let me continue working at Battle.net). I'm looking for these along with you, so don't worry too heavily if you can't find something. If this is undesirable to staff, then please close it. Or, if you have some alterior methods for me to try with my DVD/CD Rom Drive, be sure to let me know.

Remember kids, Pirated software is a bad thing.

merged with help me topic

im a little confused, are you saying your CD drive has been screwed up by viruses because all you need to do is take it to a shop (hope it has warranty) and say its been done over, they can just re fit you one in 5-10 mins

No, the actual DVD Drive itself is intact, but the Drivers (the files on the Computer required to run the Hardware) are fried. Even when I reinstall the same drivers I get the same result, no use of my DVD/CD Drive.

I have this problem that's supposedly attributed to spyware, at least according to Spy-bot. For some reason, the Registry entry of my AntiVirus.Override is changed on occasion from 0 to 1. Firstly, I'd like to know what that's supposed to mean. In terms of what AntiVirus.Override means, unless its completely self-explanatory. Secondly, anyone know how to track the source of what would be causing this change since no spyware/adware removal program seems to find the problem.
