Well, it could vary depending on what your original card settings are sitting at, and what your in game settings are at. Like, for instance, I generally ran Doom 3 rather well, but I remember after tinkering with my Graphics card, I suddenly had really bad frame rates. Why? Can you say my cards 8x Antialiasing not to mention the 4x I had with the game? Yeah. Check those out, and your rendering. Finally, also do the most simple of steps. Look at your refresh rate and your actual FPS setting (my friend had the same issue one time with UT. He set 6.0 instead of 60.) If you're still having troubles, I'll take a look at the game and your graphics card settings and see what I can come up with.

Nah i'm decently computer literate. I put my antialiasing on none, and also my anistropic filtering is none too. Its not that SS2 runs awful all the time, but at times i get cronic slowdowns where it hits at 0.20. and my original clock settings are at 350/1000. =\. My refresh is at 85 hertz http://forums.yugioh...tyle_emoticons/default/dry.gif, thats pretty normal. And my UT settings are fine, i get around 100 fps on a middlesized DM.

Maybe it's just one of those "In game" slowdowns. I'll ask some of my friends who own a copy of the game themselves. By the way.. does anyone else have Call of Duty 2? I'm getting weird graphical glitches for my blurring oddly whenever I die, or have an explosion occur very close to me. Is this fixable by a patch? That, or is there some special settings I would need to use in the Game's Settings? ((I've tried so many things with my Graphics card, it's not even funny)). I have an ATI Radeon 9600, so I'm not that bad off.

Ok, I have a problem with AIM, MSN and Windows Messenger. Every so often, they'll kick me off. How can I fix it?

It could be your internet connection. My wireless will do that occasionally, it'll just drop me off the internet without any warning. Outside of internet connections, not sure what could cause that problem.

Nah, everything else relating to internet works fine.

I think it started when I upgraded AIM.

It is possible. I have seen some odd things with the new versions of AIM, so anything is possible.

Is there any way to downgrade it?

If you have an older version (the installer), yes. Just remove the new copy, and install the old one, and if it asks if you want to upgrade, don't.

Ok, since my last post was about 5 days ago, I don't think this is double posting...

On to the problem...

When I play Call of Duty Online in an [AWITS] room, it lags for some reason. I know they use a mod to make the game play more realistic, but I don't think anyone else that plays there has a lag problem. My ping is always the lowest there, always less than 40. Is there something I could do to eliminate the lagging?

If you run any download programs, they have a tendancy to lag your computer down. And some Chatsoftware will lag as well. So what can be done is just close those programs, and sometimes everything but the game, as some will lag the game without you knowing... That should help for the most part.

Ya, I do that but I still get lag. It's probably just the mod they use, just wanted to see if there was anyway I could reduce it.

IMPORTANT, NEED HELP QUICKLY:

Ok, my computer is really messed up. What it does is it re boots whenever it feels like it. Then sometimes when I turn it on it says something is corrupt, and then it says my service drivers have failed.

Could this have come about because I look at "things" on the internet? NEED HELP!

Ok. I've had this problem for awhile, but never cared to fix it until now lol.

My CD Drive won't open. No matter how I try to open it, it won't open. The light for it never turns on, even when I turn on the computer. When I open My Computer, the drive icon isn't there and no way to get to it.

Any idea the problem and/or the solution?

Info: Compaq, Windows XP, 5-6 years old, problems lasted 4-5 months. anything else, just ask...

envoy: Is the drive connected? Sometimes the cables loosen up in time and they'll disconnect themselves. That could explain why it doesn't show up on the computer, and why it won't turn on.

GoS: If it say's somethings corrupted, chances are it is. What I would suggest is reinstalling the OS (Operating System), as it'll replace all files missing and/or corrupted, which should fix the problem. Though I don't know why it would keep rebooting, could it be that you have some virus that causes it. I couldn't honestly tell ya, I've never seen something like that, except on a computer that has Windows 98 1st Edition installed, but that's expected when you use that OS... http://forums.yugioh...tyle_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

Okay something is seriously wrong with my firewall and virus protection.

When I go to the norton security center, it shows that my virus protection is turned off. So when I click "fix" nothing happens. Also I cannot View the details of my firewall settings.

I belive you can't view Firewall settings unless you're Admin, but I don't know for sure because I've got admin on most the computers in my parents house. As for the Virus Protection, I would suggest Right Clicking the Norton icon in the System tray (where the Time and such is located) and choose Enable Auto Protect. It SHOULD turn it on, if not I would suggest re-installing Norton... Other than that, I'm not sure what the problem without knowing more info...
