He really shines with that threaten ability. It's SOOO good.


And yeah, his ultimate is pretty stupid. It can be good against control decks (like, if you've been using his buff then if they Wrath you make the dragons) but it pretty much won't ever be used.[/b]

You do realize Threaten will do the exact same thing for the exact same cost at the exact same speed, but without the Green?

Threaten doesn't put pressure on your opponent to attack it back, give all your creatuers +1/+1 and haste or anything like that. And it can't be used again (for essentially free the second time)


Threaten is a good card, yes. But when you stick it onto a card that does so much more it really becomes amazing.

I find it funny that Nicol Bolas is a Planeswalker card.

Simply because, if these cards are supposed to be "minor" planesewalkers, just imagine how grapeing powerful we are if we have the option of summoning Nicol Bolas.

If you want to go into fluff, I believe the idea is they are just kind of agreeing to help us. Like, we let him borrow a CD or something. Would have to be a damn good CD too, to make HIM come in with 5 friggin counters.


In other news, I beat a Nicol Bolas in limited today. Didn't get to play the actual tournament today (store was having another big sealed event) but I was screwing around in a draft. Dude dropped Bolas on me. I O-Ring'd it and killed him.

The idea when they were released was that they were "weaker" planeswalkers than ourselves.

Too much graveyard removal. The only remotely playable way of using Coil was with Puca's Mischief and Relic of Progenitus, and that's not very easy to do.

Not entirely. Saw two separate decks run the combo.

Deck 1 was Esper that worked off of Rule of Law, the combo, and Counterspells with Artifact support for drawing and thinning.

Deck 2 was a combo deck that ran basic control cards along side Puca's Mischief, Immortal Coil, Relic of Progenitus, Mindlock Orb, and Maralen of Mornsong. Obviously Black/Blue.

I'm basically relearning how to play this game and trying to come up with new ideas since everything I own outside of 3 boosters, Ravenous Rats, Vein Drinker, Juggernaut and a goblin theme deck is banned. Unfortunately, Liliana Vess doesn't really see a whole lot of competitive play (this statement was said with a pretty vague knowledge of the meta after Conflux, so if by some miracle a card made Vess playable, I stand corrected).

Dealing with planeswalkers, the best ones for playing competitively are Garruk and Ajani (both of him).


And if you're feeling adventurous, the Planeswalker Control deck is pretty badass. You get to use lots of 'walkers with that. You know how much fun it is to have an Ajani Vengeant, an Elspeth, and a Garruk out? WITH A RINGS OF BRIGHTHEARTH!? Fun times.

Eslpeth is also seeing a lot of play, she's not her price for no reason.

Needs updated with new Planeswalkers, for more knowledge... Jace, the Mind Sculptor is retarded, he gets alot of play and has 4 abilities, all of which are amazing, especialy his last one, which we like to call "-12: You Win the Game". Best Walker in my and Jeremy's (Guy that works at The Comic Shop Plus.) opinion.
