-Lack of any realism =/
-way too easy IMO
-not enough side missions[/b]

I guess you shoot locusts on your way to school coupled with break time drive bys

It was easy, except the last mission

there a hell of alot of side missions, theyre just repetitive.

The game is the most innovate ive played in a long time. Far better than other sandbox free roaming games. Best GFX ive seen (bar Gears), biggest environment on any game and the gameplay was different from anything ive ever seen

Screw unrealistic helicopter jumps, its what made it so good

Alot of analysts are predicting bad news for Sony... but what do they know? Still, there's alot of concern.

A recent string of promotions at Sony might be hinting at a shift in focus away from hardware towards software... could we never see a PS4?

I prefer like a merger (Microsoft/Sony...uh...MicroSony? Naw...). Then we get all their game franchises onto one system, decent price. Then just get whatever Nintendo's new console is, it'll probably be cheap once again.

How can you guys be serious about the Wii?

It's a gamecube with a shell and a new controller. That's it.

Look at 95% of the games out for the Wii. Most of them are getting terrible reviews at IGN and Gamespot. Sure, Zelda is good, but doesen't introduce many new graphical or physical or AI leaps over Zelda for the 64.

Super Monkey Ball Blitz is fun, but how many levels can you play until you get bored? It was 6 for me.

Tell me, what right now makes the Wii so god like?

If it was a wired controller like the Gamecube would you still be praising Nintendo for whatever they do? I like the controller a LOTTTTT, but it doesen't make the system.

A good system is well rounded in all categories. The Wii is lacking in power, graphics, and Physics. Yes, the price tag is great, but for 50 more dollars you can get a better system.

The controller for the Wii doesen't make it the best. It's the advertising that catches people's attention.

Don't get me wrong though. I like my Wii a lot, but I'm not saying it's not without flaws.

So you're a Microsoft fan Yngwie?

Isn't a 360 just a Xbox with HD? 360 has been out for a year and it has 2 AAA titles, while Wii had one on opening day. You say most Wii games are getting terrible reviews? Zelda, Madden, Call of Duty, Super Monkey Ball, Rayman, and DBZ all got above an 8.0 at IGN, and I'm probably forgetting some.

Even if TP wasn't as good as OOT, who cares, because no game has ever been up to OOT level.

Who cares if the Wii isn't graphically stronger then PS3 and 360, it's got better gameplay, and thats what counts.

Yes, but Yngwie didn't say anything about which system is better. He just said that Wii sucks because it doesn't have any good games besides Zelda and because it doesn't have HD, so I had to assume he voted for 360. What I said made it obvious that I'm a fanboy.

360:
-large graphical upgrade
-enhanced XBL
-POINTS POINTS POINTS
-Xbox Live Arcade
-Wireless controllers

its more like 5 AAA games:
Gears of War
Eldar Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Rainbow Six Vegas
Call of Duty 2

Thw Wii like I've said all along is a Gamecube peripheral. lack of power and all for a new controller, essentially the controller is a gamecube peripheral. and the funny thing you can't even argue online because its not up yet.

as far as online goes, you can't say it's better, but you can't say it's worse. Personally, I just want functionality and good multiplayer, that's all it has to be.

Yeah, it's an Xbox with HD. You know, the Xbox can great games with great physics, improved AI, super great graphics, better features, better games, and 8 times more power. Right. End sarcasm.

Ok, look at all the games that got below an 8 on IGN. Hold on, Marvel Ult. Alliance, Monster 4x4 circuit, Rapala Tournament Fishing, Avatar, GT Pro Series, Cars, Red Steel, Call of Duty 3, and Wii Sports. And also, how many times more powerful is the Wii then the Cube? 1.5?

Better gameplay? How is it better? I'd rather play a game with intense and smart AI, great physics, destructable environments, and amazing graphics then a game with all of that being not so great.

Or, do you think it's better to just have a new controller with crappy intelligence? I see what you mean that it doesen't have to be amazing to have fun, but a bigger advancement and 720p would have been very nice.

My friends came over tonight for a party, and they liked the Wii sports and Zelda for like 30 minutes and got board. Then we played Gears for the rest of the night. I mean, the physics and everything in all the Wii games are bad.

The gameplay in my opinion is worse. I asked my father who sometimes plays games, and he said he likes games that have amazing graphics. But Nintendo boys don't care about that.

Why is everyone starting this now? I mean, 2 of these systems have barely been out for 2 weeks. Not to mention 360 has been out a year longer. I say we compare Ps3/Wii currently to the 360 when it was two weeks old. My thoughts on that? LAWL @ 360. Moral of the story? It's way to early to argue as to which is better.

Ghosty, the Wii DOES go online, it's just that Online MULTIPLAYER stuff isn't set up yet. And Ghosty, why are you calling the Wiimote Gcn peripherals? It sounds like you've never even seen a 360/Ps3 controller, since those work and look almost exactly the same as their predecessors from last gen.

Thats hardly a good reasoning to show how its not just an upgrade

Better GFX is just an improvment as the guy said
enhanced XBL is also just an xbox improv
Points-come on
Xbox had XBLA
Xbox had wireless controllers

How can you say the games on Wii suck if you're basing it on Avatar and Cars.

Better gameplay? How is it better? I'd rather play a game with intense and smart AI, great physics, destructable environments, and amazing graphics then a game with all of that being not so great. Well I guess you have a different preference then the rest of the world

Or, do you think it's better to just have a new controller with crappy intelligence? I see what you mean that it doesen't have to be amazing to have fun, but a bigger advancement and 720p would have been very nice.Crappy intelligence? It shoots IR rays from the front of it. It has a speaker in it. How is it not intelligent?

My friends came over tonight for a party, and they liked the Wii sports and Zelda for like 30 minutes and got board. Then we played Gears for the rest of the night. I mean, the physics and everything in all the Wii games are bad.Did they get bored of it, or did you get bored of it? If you hate your Wii so much to call it out then I'm pretty sure you were the one who got bored with it.

The gameplay in my opinion is worse. I asked my father who sometimes plays games, and he said he likes games that have amazing graphics. But Nintendo boys don't care about that.I like games with better graphics as well. But graphics don't make a game, gameplay does. I don't need to see sweat dripping from a every football player's face to make the game good. I need intense gameplay, which is what the Wii provides.[/b]

the PS3 and Wii will always be a year behind the 360. that is not a valid arguement. next year you'll say the same thing so yeah.

360 @ two weeks old:
Geometry Wars
Working online
Project Gotham racing 3
Kameo
Call of Duty 2

The Wii is essentially the gamecube with a new controller. that's why its a peripheral not the other stuff. What I'm saying is that if you add that controller to the GCN you have the same basic system and everyone one of you knows it.

Sparks: XBLA on Xbox was a disc not a DC thing.

A launch sold out DZ, I'm jaw-shocked-jaw is shocked.

Wii is a bigger improvement to Gamecube then 360 is to Xbox. Wii has the controller, but it also has online, virtual console, Miis, a photo gallery, WiiConect24, Wii-DS connectivity, a small increase in graphics, and more.

The 360 just got more powerful.

you dont think they could add a dashboard to the GCN? it already had online it just was never used. try Phantasy Star Online on GCN. there is a ethernet port on the console.

youc an try to defend the Wii but it is a Gamecube peripheral. I'll buy one because I dont have a Gamecube.

Seriously, I am tired of all these people posting which one is the best when they don't even own them. Especially you Ghost, you own what? You don't own any next-gen systems so far. You don't even own a Gamecube or a PS2, and you conclude the Xbox to be a better machine!

I have both a 360, a Wii, and all three last-gen consoles. Once the price is reasonable I'll also have a PS3. It is dumb to compare the 360 to the Wii when it had a year ahead. And if you had to ask my opinion, I would say Wii has a better launch than the 360 did. I mean sure, many of Wii's launch games are also crappy ports, including Ubisoft's fiasco of porting the worst games they have ever made onto it. But then again, Wii also has Zelda which is arguably better than any other game on the 360 right now (including gears by a little bit). It is boring at first but after the forest temple it gets pretty cool. Wii Sports was also boring at first but after getting deeper into it, it was a blast. It is even better for me because I have a brother who games and and a game hating dad that got hooked on bowling. Wii Sports also has a training mode with some clever mini-games that are even more fun than the sports themselves. Most importantly though, playing games like bowling and tennis actually require true skill, which is something I do not see in many games these days. Wii also has VC games at launch and while some aren't good, Sonic the Hedgehog, Bomberman 93, and F-Zero are arguably better than Geometry Wars. Monkey Ball isn't boring if you play it with others, it is a blast in this case so long as you play the right mini-games.

As for the 360, I got it a few months after launch. I had DoA 4 and Call of Duty 2. Honestly neither were really amazing. DoA was cool in the sense that all the girls dressed as skimpy as they did in previous outings and Brad Wong was cool just because he mastered the drunken fist, it wasn't nearly as fun as other Tecmo games like Ninja Gaiden, it really played similar to other fighting game I have played, save SSBM. Call of Duty 2 was fun at first, but it wasn't really exceptional. Online wasn't fun because most people played it like it was Halo 2 instead of playing it like a tactical shooter. Speaking of Halo 2 it is still the game I play the most on the 360. Same with GRAW. The one 360 game I played that truly felt next-gen was Oblivion. I loved it, but it had its fair share of shortcomings, such as constantly freezing, and some of the quests were boring. After all these experiences on both consoles, I couldn't care less about graphics, or some dumb gimmick called points. 360 is still a solid next-gen console, but it is overrated a little bit.

Now lets talk Ps3. All of us are already coming to conclusions that the PS3 is not going to stand a chance because none of the games look as good as Gears of War. Like the Wii, its potential is not realized yet, in a few years PS3 games will evetually begin to look noticeably different than 360 games.

All in all I can't understand the dissapointment some people are dissapointed with the Wii. I mean the controller feels fine, the graphics are what I expected them to be (though the current game have not even used close to the potential of the Wii's power), and the Online service is what I expected it to be, slightly tedious friend code system and a lack of online multiplayer at launch. I knew all of this and I wasn't dissapointed, for the most part everything has lived up to my expectations, but for people like Yngwie, they obviously had different expectations.

And thanks for proving my point PSI, when you have a Wii, it honestly feels different than a gamecube. I would like to say that everyone thinking that the Wii is going to be like the cube and the N64 in the sense that it will be only good for first party titles, I am going to disagree, I think that everyone will be very suprised if the Wii's sales come close to its rivals. Look at the DS, it had a drought for a year then it gained huge momentum.
