Well, football season will not be starting for a bit but there have been a lot of People all teams resigned and the Draft will be coming up in April. Alright some up to date things:

1. Bears coach Smith, GM Angelo sign contract extensions.
2. Ravens cut RB Lewis, but hope to re-sign him.
3. Panthers veteran TE Mangum retires.
4. Greenbay Packers interested in Randy Moss...Hmm...Favre Stays, and he's in good shape and they do get Randy, Possible Playoff shot?!

Playoff/WildCard teams this year in my opinion:

Panthers ( Slight Chance )
Pats ( Duh?! )
Colts ( Duh Again?! )
Seahawks
Eagles
Bears ( ehhh...Wild Card atleast, Rex isn't a great QB I don't think )
Saints

I think the Dolphins have a great chance this year ONLY if Culpeppers Stays 100% Healthy....It would awsome if Randy Moss went to the Dolphins because Culpeppers and Randy used to both be on the Vikings and was great together. But probably won't happen. happy.gif

bears have a 4 year contract with Lovie, and for the packers, they could use randy moss with donald driver

The Bears aren't going to keep Rex as their QB. My bet is that they pick up Jeff Garcia.

Anyways, my pick is on the pats. They will get a lot younger on defense through the draft, and could pick up a more reliable WR(maybe Eric Moulds?) to compliment Tom Brady, Ben Watson, and Laurence Maroney. They always draft well

grossman played so horribly in the SB game, that would really suck to be him, starting qb SB, 2nd string QB next year...idk though, they may keep him because he just needs more experiance, and that was a huge game so early in his career

He has actually been with the team for I think this is his fourth year now, I really don't think he will get any better. He's been injured a lot and a lot of QB's have taken the place of him(he was supposed to be the starter the year before last, but instead Kyle Orton got the job because he was injured). I think he has had a lot of tough breaks, but GM's really dont give a crap about that......it's either you produce or you leave. I think he has to go

If the Bears cut Grossman, they have Orton (Who fit the bill, but nothing more spectacular than that) and Brian Griese, who has had a rocky NFL career to say the least, and isn't proven much himself. Bears need to CAREFULLY evaluate and assess this situation.

On a related note, what is everyone's thoughts on Jake Plummer possibly being traded to Tampa Bay, but wanting to go to Houston where Gary Qubiak(sp?), his former QB coach at Denver, is head coach (And recently cut David Carr). Also a strong rumor if Plummer is traded to the Bucs, he will retire.

VERY surprised that the Raven cut Jamal Lewis, the Steelers cut Joey Porter, and the Saints cut Joe Horn (Even though he's been injured for 2 years). VERY interesting.

Can't wait for the draft, and see where Peterson will end up (Which may be Cleveland...ick)

I dont think the Bears want to risk another year on another unreliable QB, they need somebody steady.

Jake Plummer will not go to Tampa, the deal is dead. He says he wants to retire, but the only reason why is because he wants to go to Houston or another team, where he can be the starting QB(another option for Bears maybe? i doubt it though). If he doesnt get traded to a spot where he can start, then he will retire.

I was surprised also that Lewis was cut, but they plan on resigning him, so I see no harm there. I was expecting Joey Porter to be cut because their new coach runs a 4-3 defense instead of a 3-4 and as soon as they hired the coach, everyone knew he would be gone eventually. Look for the Patriots to either pick up Adailus Thomas(LB from Ravens, spelled the name wrong probably) or Joey Porter, whichever they can get their hands on.......or at least that is what ESPN News is saying. Joe Horn is going to have trouble gettign a job, he is in his mid to late 30's and is oft-injured. Good Luck to him

Porter going to the Pats would be sacrilege to Steeler nation. Pittsburg would riot .

Just like I figured, the Patriots have signed the top LB on the market Adalius Thomas to a preliminary deal

I don't think Porter will really go to the Pats. Just doesn't seem like they could afford him with Brady and all the other high dollar people they have. =/ It's hard to tell where people will go. I mean hell Ty Law went to the Chiefs last year.

Well they won't sign Porter now that they signed Thomas, but Thomas is better and younger anyways, so I'm fine with it

WOW

The Bucs signed Jeff Garcia for around $5 million (wasn't expecting that)

and THEN they traded for Jake Plummer for a condtional 2008 draft pic(I didn't think he was going togo)

Well, these were some interesting moves to say the least

Bucs need a run game, then they'll be a legitimate Wild Card contender.

New England pciks up the best LB in free-agency in Thomas.

Signs a TE named Brady so now Tom's jersey will read T. Brady on the back.

trying to sign 25 year old Wes Walker from Miami to.

Still need to re-sign Asante Samuel though. And signing Cato June at LB or Joey Porter at LB would be really great as well. Shame about Corey Dillion, apprently NYG want him though.

@ Shadow - a healthy Cadillac Williams is an amazing Run Game.

Playoff Predictions next year:

San Diego
New England
Indianapolis
Cincinnati
Baltimore
Tennessee

Seattle
Chicago
New Orleans
Philadelphia (if Donovan is healthy)
Green Bay
St. Louis

I used to be more useful around here.

They stuck the Franchise Tag on Asante Samuel, so he'll be with the team at least for this upcoming year, but he is explosive and he is a prime time corner.....hopefully they'll spend the bucks next yr

And I think Cadillac is good, but last yr was just SO dissapointing to watch him, but he'll have a bounce back yr I think

Cadillac struggled because he was the only offensive threat. and with a weak QB teams played weak coverage on the receivers and the Bucs didn't have the O-line to open up holes. with a QB like Garcia teams will actually have to cover the wideouts and with a more spread out feel Cadillac should have another season like his first one.
