Lol, how can you even say Bill was awful? I'm not even going to get into that.
Anyways, The pats now have also traded for Wes Welker from the Dolphins. However, the Dolphins will be good this year.....their defense WAS amazing, and thanks to Porter it will STILL be amazing. Rumor mill is swirling that Randy Moss may land on the Patriots team, if you can believe that. So far, the Pats are free spending and in my honest opinion, I believe they're the ones to beat so far. Things definitely change during the season though, so I'm ot getting ahead of myself

rofl. Bill Cowher was coaching their for 15 years he did an excellent job. won a Superbowl, a bunch of playoffs and title games. He did a ton for that organization and if he wanted he could have been the coach anywhere there was a hole at the coaching position this off-season.
Charlie Bach* and ever stop and think Ben said he was ready to play? and Bill took the word of his sophomore, superbowl winning all-star QB?
Either Randy Moss or Donte Stallworth will be in the receiving core of the Pats next year. Them combined with NYJ is why Miami still won't make the playoffs next year.
well, that and they have no QB, Dante Culpepper is washed up. Maybe Trent Green will land there.
I used to be more useful around here.

interesting rumor as a Pats fan.
They have cap room. They have two first round picks. They have an excess of Wide Receivers.
They need a young inside linebacker. Lance Briggs wants out of Chicago. Chicago needs a receiver. Chicago will want a first round pikc plus something for Briggs.
could it work?
I hope so. That would potentially give the Pats a linebacking 5 of:
Bruschi, Vrabel, Thomas, Briggs, and Colvin.
wow.

I'm a pats fan too. And yes, the pats are packing some heat in the WR department...how many do they have right now? It's pretty high, but the more competition, the better group of WR. I would love to get Briggs.....if only 2 yrs from now. We have a nice solid group of LB right now. Old? yes, with the exception of the new addition Adailius Thomas, but they are also veterans. Brushi will make Thomas better and I as aPats fan do not want to see Brushi get passed up for Briggs. Brushi only has a couple yrs left in the tank, and Briggs would be a wonderful replacement, but not right now. The only way I see them grabbing him is if they switch to 4-3 defense, which I'm not so sure they would do. Thats just my opinion though. If they could find a way for it to work, then that would be great.....but I also dont want them overspending for him.

As of now its:
Donte Stallworth
Kelly Washington
Wes Welker
Reche Caldwell
Jabar Gaffney
Bam Childress
Chad Jackson
and potentially Troy Brown is thrown at that list to. Gonna be tough to make the starters. If I were guessing I'd say Stallworth (1), Gaffney (2-year in the system), Welker (3-inside route), Washington (4), Brown/Caldwell (5), and Childress/Jackson (6-Jackson is probably gonna start on the injured list witha torn ACL).
The pats will always play 3-4 under Belichick. The 4th linebacker can make up for their lack of speed. And right now its looking more like Edgerton Hartwell (no clue who he is) as a LB from free-agency to. And int he draft it seems they want FLA safety Reggie Nelson. *shrug*

Well they definitely need to stock up on defense during this draft, since everyone expected them to last yr. I also want them to keep Troy Brown. Regardless if he is the best receiver on the team(he isn't, however he is the most reliable), he showed his most prized possession during the playoffs last yr when he stripped that fumble after the interception. He is a clutch player and knows what to do at all times.
in other news:
Texans traded for QB Matt Schaub. In my opinion, this was an outstanding trade on their part.

Heres the part I don't Understand.
Last draft they passed on:
Vince Young
Jay Cutler
Matt Leinhart
and now they trade for Matt Schaub. eh I think either of those 3 QB's would have been a better choice instead of Mario Williams. Or maybe this guy named Reggie Bush.

I totally agree Mario Williams was a horrible choice...they should have picked Bush. However, this year they have a new headcoach who is trying to turn the organization around.....and I think Schaub will help.

anyway, does anyone think the titans have potential this season? I saw ghosty put 'em in the playoff predictions spot, but now that they have lost drew bennett and travis henry, lendelle white really needs to step up in the RB department and they need to get some inhuman WRs this draft.
Thoughts?

The Titans will definitely show up to play this year. They showed glimpses of what they can do this year. The whole pacman thing is even aggravating me a little bit, but they really can't release him. Vince Young was obviously a leader last year and he will continue to improve. Thye have lost some key guys, but they will still be contendrs....for the playoffs, not the championship

He would still have had his job. Foote would be the player that would suffer.

because they're running 3-4 until the year after this. He needs a year to re-change the lineup into 4-3.
