They're actually making an animated movie iirc.

Also, I didn't realize it but the second comes out Fall this year under the name "Professor Layton and Diabolical Box".

A fourth game is coming out in Japan this year too. It's part of a trilogy that takes place before Professor Layton and the Curious Village, with this one being about how Layton meets Luke.

And the Professor Layton is going to be called Professor Layton and the Eternal Songstress. It's being produced by the man who does the Pokemon movies so you know the art and animation is going to be excellent.
