Gaming ETC will be restructuring the main site to better incorporate all the games the support as well as make it more user friendly, and one aspect of that will be game articles! We are looking for several article writers who will be able to submit articles to us on a regular basis, which would be about once a week. We plan on expanding coverage to Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering, but it will be confined to Yu-Gi-Oh! articles right now.

I have been informed that we can get some articles up as early as monday, so if there are any articles in the articles section that you feel should be posted on the main site, please post a URL to them here. If you are interested in trying out for the team, please send me an article of about 500 words on a topic related to yugioh, preferrably from the following:

• Metagame discussion. Talking about what decks work and what dont.
• Decktype analysis. Focus on a specific aspect of a deck or just the general deck and write about it's effectiveness or some aspect of it.
• Card analysis. Focus on a specific "tech" card and analyze it's impact on decks.
• Theory discussion. Write about game mechanics or just how to play in certain situations.

We would like to eventually expand to something sort of like metagame, with event results for big regional's/SJC's, as well as have people send in decks for critique from the article writers. You will recieve full credit for your articles, and the chance to be part of a really big project! Furthermore, tenured writers will receive their own usergroup and access to a subforum once there is a decent enough group.

The only pre-requisite is decent grammar and a good knowledge of the game. I will edit all articles and send them back to you so you can ensure that the content is still the same, and after it's ready for publication, the articles will be published. I greatly appreciate anyone who wishes to help out with this project.

ETC Forums will be holding a referral contest!

All traders who fulfill the following requirements are automatically entered:

1. Refer 5 new traders to the site. (Getting a past member to come back does not count).
2. New traders must conduct at least 3 trades (one with a mod or non mod trader).

The Details:

•This contest will run for 90 days. Contest starts 06/22/2009 and runs until 09/22/2009.
•At the end of 90 days the members with the most referrals will be tabulated and prizes will be sent out to the winners. Winner of the mat will be contacted for preference on signatures.
•When you refer a new person to the site please post their username in here. As long as that member meets the requirements by the end of the 90 days it will count as a referral. A list will be kept on this topic showing the leaders to encourage a little competition.
•Middleman trades still only count as 1 trade when references are tabulated for the new members.
•Staff members are allowed to participate in the contest (except trade staff).

No, there isn't a formal deadline. I'd like to get something in the first 1-2 weeks for the majority of the team, but we will be adding writers as need be.

For now, the answer is indeed no. If you've contributed several articles, however, I'm sure we could arrange getting you some booster packs.

Well, good and bad side: I have (what I think is) a really good idea for a series of articles, however I won't have the time over the summer to write them. However, I can keep them going pretty consistently once I go back to school in the fall.

I'm definitely interested, but this summer...not quite sure if it's going to happen.

I'd be glad to write articles. I mean I have a pretty good idea of the current meta's state is and I really don't need any compensation. But if you'd like to give me some by all means =)

Basically how to make a decent local or beginner level deck by using only the cards obtained by buying three of the newest Structure. Any thoughts?

That sounds like a good idea to me, because those are the players who will likely be reading these articles for educational reasons, not simply for interest.
