Nintendo Power has revealed the Arceus event dates for players of the American versions of the Pokémon games Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. The event will take place Nov. 7-15 at Toys "R" Us stores in the United States and Puerto Rico. The event will be distributed via Mystery Gift, similar to all previous Generation IV distributions.

Arceus, the Alpha Pokémon, is a Normal-type legendary Pokémon. It is currently the final Pokémon in the National Pokédex. Like Darkrai and Shaymin before it, Arceus was not officially recognized by Nintendo until the year of its debut. It was later revealed by the official Pokémon site last Aug. 3, making all Pokémon in the games officially revealed.

Following the trend of most event Pokémon released outside Japan, the Arceus to be distributed will most likely be the same as the ones first distributed this year. If this would be the case, it would be in a Cherish Ball at level 100. It would hold the Rowap Berry and a Classic Ribbon, and it would know the moves Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, Shadow Force and Judgment, the signature moves of Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and itself, respectively. Bringing the Arceus to the the Ruins of Alph in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver later on will allow players to unlock an event that will allow them to obtain a level 1 Dialga, Palkia or Giratina.

Oh wow, so is that ANY Arceus or this specific Arceus?

Game Freak is seriously making me think this is the last Pokemon game ever.

Its useless just like the Regigigas. It will only be used for the event, and will just lay around in your PC. Unless they be cool and EV train it already for us lol.

I think this might be the first time the U.S. is getting Arceus.

That article got me concerned as well. Some say that the third generation sucked, but would it be bad of an idea if they that gen. got a 4th gen. revamp like Gold & Silver has?

3rd was amazing and they will definitely remake it like they did the previous generations.

3rd gen really polarizes pokemon fans. From my observations, I have realized a number of facts.

1. 3rd Gen is very popular with competitive playes
2. 3rd Gen has some of the most popular starters
3. 3rd Gen is widely attacked for the massive water area
4. 3rd Gen is attacked by older fans because of the new pokemon designs

2nd Gen is just as debatable. Again, it seems that the people that like it played Red and Blue as their first pokemon games. As a non-competitive player and having played every version of pokemon to date, I can easily call 2nd Gen my favorite.

3rd gen's gameplay advances were great. They also ruined main game pokemoning.

Gen 3's starters are...mostly lame. Swampert is useful but uninteresting to me, Blaziken was cool but is now outclassed and Sceptile seems useful, but isn't and has a boring design.

Story, yawn. Enemy team, yawn. Gym leaders, yawn. Region and region set-up, yawn.

Some cool cats though. Steven and um....

Overall terrible pokemon design (stats, look) but a few standouts (Metagross, Salamence).

3rd Gen fans are like the FFVI purists while 2nd Gen fans are like the FFVII purists.

Really? I find it to be the opposite. A lot of people love FFVII because it was one of, if not the first japanese RPG they played. At the time, it advanced the genre while providing beautiful graphics. FFVI fans played a lot of RPGs but go back to what was great back in the day. Sure, it may not be the greatest game ever, but it changed up the formula (letting Kefka win) while remaining true to the genre.

FFVI = G/S/C Older, not the best in terms of gameplay, changed it up (Kefka/Kanto)
FFVII= R/S/E Newer, prettier, more genre enhancements, interesting story

I dunno, thats always how its seemed to me.

But again, 2nd gen fans have that veneer of nostalgia. A very "you had to be there" feel to them, comparable to Goldeneye 64.

HEARSAY!

VI purists are snooty and I just don't think people who like Gen 3 are like that. They enjoyed the sophisticated feel and challenging aspects of the game. I can agree with VII purists = Gen 1 purists because you're all pretentious oranges there and think it's the best just because it's the most popular.

I really don't think Gen 3 needs a remake. It had incorporated parts in DPPt, all legendaries are accounted for in HGSS, and the graphics/plot didn't needed to be changed after Emerald. Emerald was a great game, kinda wish I had my copy but oh well.

I still don't think Gen 3 needs a remake. Emerald is a really solid game that doesn't need changing or expanding on.

Alright, forget I brought a Gen 3 remake up. Let's focus on American players FINALLY getting Arceus, and tomorrow's the first day of the event.

Shame that I still don't got a copy of Platinum. :( Anyone here getting this Arceus?
