Ok, this scenario came up last night in a duel. I played Gold Sarcophagus and chose Judgement Dragon. During my opponents turn, my opponent played Burial from a Different Dimension, and put it back in my graveyard. During my next turn (So after Standby Phase number 1), I removed that same JD and a dark monster to special summon Chaos Sorcerer. Now my question is, because that monster that was originally removed from play by Gold Sarco is still removed from play during my second standby phase, do I get to add it to my hand still, even though it left the RFG pile, and then went back to it?
I am looking to duel as many people as I can, to get back into the swing of things. My name on DN is Lloyd6770

My current deck - Dark World

Yes, I know my deck needs help, but this seems to be the best I can do with the cards I currently have. If you have any suggestions to change up my deck, please feel free to send me a PM with those suggestions. Thanks.

Due to the card being moved out of the RFG pile before the floating effect/lingering condition was completed, it makes the most sense to me for Judgment Dragon's association with Gold Sarcophagus to be wiped clean, or otherwise made irrelevant. I'm saying this because even if the players are able to verify that its physically the same card, The Game & Gold Sarcophagus would see it as a monster most that was most recently removed from play for Chaos Sorcerer's summon condition cost, rather than the card that was removed from play by Gold Sarcophagus' effect.

I think its also worth mentioning that unlike Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy who activates his own effect based on the summon eligibility that has a much higher hold on cards, Judgment Dragon would need to be added to the player's hand from a floating condition or lingering effect placed upon it by another effect which can only apply to cards while they remain in a single viable location. This is why a Treeborn Frog that's removed from play & then returned to the graveyard can activate its effect without being negated, even if it was previously destroyed by battle with Dark Ruler Ha Des.

Edit - Also if anyone cares, I had a similar situation regarding Destiny Hero - Doom Lord vs Burial From A Different Dimension & something that removes it again confirmed back on the UDE Yugiboards, which agrees with everything else in my post.

I kind of figured that's how Sarc vs. JD would work, but I just want to clarify the Doom Lord + Burial. The same ruling will apply, and the monster will not come back, correct?

My friend, do you fly away now?
To a world that abhors you and I?

You have to remove it from play face-up if you play Gold Sarcophagus.

http://www.netrep.net/
http://ccgdb.com/yugioh/index-old.php
http://www.geocities...judgeresources/ (currently dead, but thats the case with everything Geocities right now)

If you're curious as to why the card is removed face-up, the logic behind this is that anything sent to the graveyard or removed from play is done so face-up, unless specified otherwise. Since Gold Sarcophagus doesn't specify otherwise, we should follow the default rules.
