ETC's GFX Apprentice Program

Learn how to create aesthetically pleasing signatures and pieces on Photoshop/GIMP from ETC's Graphic Designers. We will work with you individually, taking the time to get to know you personally and understand your weaknesses and strengths to help you grow as an artist. We will work with you in a 10-week program over AIM/MSN for faster communication. The skills that you'll learn with us will give you the ability create Signatures, Large Pieces, Collaboration Pieces and the Graphic Layout for ETC such as the Banners for each individual Skin. We will each take up to 3 apprentices to teach in this period of time.

You DO NOT need to have Photoshop or any experience with photoshop to be an apprentice

The School of Knift

I will not be active on this site, however contact me on AIM

Prof. Knift-E:

AIM: Dumbtack54
MSN: teh_knift@hotmail.com

My Goal in working with you:

-To teach you the basics of photoshop
-To teach you the fundamental art terms needed to create art
-To help you get the grasp of the flexability that Photoshop/GIMP offers
-To help you learn on your own
-For you to have fun

Artistic Background and Style:

I tend to think of my art style as not the central part of my piece, but more so of emphasis over the center focus, at least in my digital art. I try to tell a story for my art, it being either what the focus is trying to portray or something of my own creation. I use a very minimal and easily fixable style, which cannot be seen outside of the PDF. I go to NYU and I am considering concentrating in Media in Culture. I guess, the rest can be learned from our conversations.

Apprentices:
1. Cloud954
2.
3.

The School of Toxic.

MSN: DriftingApart@live.com

My aggressive outlook on Photoshop will help you with your strengths and weaknesses, attempting to fine tune your ability in making Signatures, Large Projects and Collaboration Projects. If you feel you're not strong in one area of your art, we will work on that until you are comfortable with it.

The Process
Step 1. Basic knowledge learning of Photoshop and it's tools.
Step 2. The use of Layers, Brushes, and Selection.
Step 3. Basic tools. (Smudging, Brush Editing, Filters, Image Modification, Burning/Dodging, Fill, Gradient Map, Text)
Step 4. Intermediate tools. (Pen Tool, Spot Healing, Clone Stamp, History Brush)
Step 5. Advanced tools. (Channels, Paths, Animation, Scripts*)
Step 6. Figuring out your style. (What you're most comfortable with.)
Step 7. Basic Signature Techniques (Colors, Lighting, Effects, Textures)
Step 8. Intermediate Signature Techniques (Depth, Text Placement, The Finishing Touches)
Step 9. Incorporating what you've learned into Collaborations and Large Projects.
Step 10. Polishing the diamond. (Getting it down right.)

List of Apprentices.
1.) Fresh
2.)
3.)

I would join if I had Photoshop because I've always wanted to learn, but sadly I do not have the money that Photoshop requires.

Well sweet. What times are each of you on? I usually only get on the computer late at night, between 10PM and 6AM. I'm probably going to join Knift's because his seems more geared towards someone who has never touched Photoshop before, but I don't ever recall seeing late-night posts from him so that might affect it.
