Also shooters are not great in general anymore, who has the better RPGs is a matter of opinion, and once again paying for good online is better than having to play on plumty online.

I've been on both onlines and there exactly the same, nothings different at all. One just costs and ones free. I like the 360, it isn't a terrible system, but the PS3 outclasses it any day and every day. Red Ring of Death is annoying and the Yellow Ring of Death rarely happens, while the Red Ring is so often..

Oddly enough. I dont hear very much about the RROD anymore unless its from a model in the first couple years of release. Now lets not get into a fanboy war. YF already grapeed things over there thanks to an bad oldorange member.

So yea, I noticed that if you read those Datalog you get as soon as you get them, it helps piece the story together faster. Anyone else read the fluff or what have you they give you?

So, I hear the battle system uses something comparable to the gambits from XII which I hated. Will I hate this too, or is it different enough for me to at least give it a shot?

Nah. Paradigm system really has nothing in common with Gambits.

Its just mildly abuseable though if you know what you are doing.

You should really give it a shot.

Hahahaha, you do know that most games are 720p native, the 360 just stretches them out to give you an illusion of 1080p gaming.

Doesnt bug me in most cases where the games dont push the system. The ones that do push things do look grapeing amazing.

As far as I know, all games are 720p at most for all games these days. FF13 is the first game to actually go 1080p.

I am not even far into the game yet. Is this worth a buy or should I take it back and wait a week or two so until I can buy it?

Its marked at 720p, 1080i, and 1080p

Also compared a PS3 shot to things on my 360 and they are equal.

You should buy this period. Only major complants, if you want to call one of these that, is an exploitable combat system and piss poor weapon upgrade system.

Usually, the lowest resolution on the box is the native resolution that the game runs in everything else above that is just the native resolution is just ballooned up with adjacent pixels filled with a similar colour resulting in an image with noticably reduced sharpness.

In the case of the 360, the native resolution is 576p, which is barely higher than SDTV resolution, while the PS3 runs at 720p natively. So the 360 version is gimped graphically, see the chart below to see what I mean.

Only real gripe for me is the weapons. Since you get do any real work on them until way towards the end.

Um yeah maxing out your crystarium is actually VERY important.

The final top level trees are like 10k per move but when you move its like +120 HP or +20 strength PER.

In a game where HP is also your Mdef and Pdef, HP is very very important. Obviously so is STR since it relates to ALL of your physical damage, and MAGIC since it relates to all of your magical damage AND healing.

Upgrading a weapon is very important on the attackers. My sword gives lightning like +300 STR and like 270 Magic alone so it ends up being very worth it but maxing crystarium is something that should never not be done.
