Very insightful, if excessively lengthy article detailing the first fifteen hours or so of FFXIII. This article has put me back onto the fence, since the author described the characters as a hit and miss with miss being more common and the game being incredibly linear with no option to do side stuff in between story. I may just end up watching a playthrough of it on youtube to save money.

It's pretty clear that the majority is in the 7-8 range. If we consider the press, it'll go down as the worst Final Fantasy.

What is the average on Metacritic for most FF games. I just checked them out last night for plums and giggles and they have an 84 right now, which means its still a pretty damn good game.

Eh. Dont take me to seriously when I drop Metacritic scores either. Personally think Metacritic is full of plum for using reviews from randoms as part of their averaging system for metascores.

Yeah I noticed that when glancing at FF13 on Metacritic. Most of the major and legit reviewers were coming in from 89-96 from what I saw. 88 and lower from the less legit and randoms making reviews.

And most randoms can't really appreciate the depth and complexity of [most] final fantasy games. Almost every one presents an amazing and enthralling storyline. If this was an exception, I'd be pretty shocked.

Well the thing that pisses me off about Metacritic is the fact they even use randoms and illegitimate reviewers to start with.

Bioshock is infamous now because of its score of 89, which should have been a 90+ if it wasnt for the grapeing ignorant random that wrote a very bad review on the game.

I noticed some of them are not all that well known which considering the fact I never heard of the vast majority of the reviewers and I dont think many people around here or otherwise have heard of them either.

I dont hold many of them in any regard as they are pretty much the reviewer version of neworange randoms.

I counted only five "7ish" ratings, six "8ish" ratings and about 8 "9ish" ratings from the list I posted.
