Second, anyone who has a pet bonds with them to some extent.
Third, had I left them as they were, they would have all died a slow agonizing death. I watched that first fish die. It was horrible. First its limbs became paralyzed, it began gasping for breath, then shivering for a brief moment, before sinking and then floating to the very top. Parts of its tail even began breaking off.
It did not want all my fish to die like that, so I euthanized them. I know I could have done it better. I was told that temperature shock would have provided a more peaceful death, but I had not known it at the time.
*sigh* My last fish hasn't been eating much food this morning. I'm hoping it turns out okay.

Also my dad apparently has foolishly decided to go out and buy new fish WITHOUT CONSULTING ME. This tank is 10 gallons. Normally you need 20 gallon for one goldfish plus 10 gallons per extra fish. Since the lone survivor was only juvenile, the 10 gallon would have sufficed for now, but now there are 5 goldfish in 10 gallon tank. My dad's interference was the reason that my fish got sick in the first place; he was the one that overloaded the tank. I have a feeling this will not end well.

Told me that my song was the reason he beat cancer.
Ain't know what to say, I just froze.
Little too deep, I suppose.
But after a year of review.
I figured out it wasn't me.
It was you.
Congratulations.

lol, you had an overloaded tank and didn't expect sickness to sweep them up?

I'm not happy with my dad's attitude at all. I try explaining to him that I'd rather have the lone fish I had live long and happy then a bunch of fish that live under miserable conditions, but he just laughs and says that they're just fish. Damn, ignorant Asian parents.
EDIT: Real immature whoever -rep'd me.

And can you fully blame him? The cost of the things makes them appear to have no value. In the eyes of a grown man who's mind has been on financially supporting a family for several years, at least, why would he consider anything that you can get more than one of with a little pocket silver to have any value? I mean, I understand why someone who cared about them would, but I can also see how someone else might not understand that.

Seriously though, I think we're just going to have to live with the fact that regardless of the evidence before us, certain people will hold onto their beliefs (even when rooted in fallacy) because that's what they choose to believe.

I would bawl my heart out if a dog/cat died on me after like 10 years.

I do think I found a solution to the tank issue though. If I can get and second tank and connect with the first, it would be cheaper than buying a brand new tank. I was looking around and I found this: http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

I dont doubt that it was, but if he knew half of what you do about fish, he wouldnt have been so quick to get them to begin with. Really hate when no one thinks my opinion means nothing because of age. Should beat your dad in a debate some time.
EDIT: immature neg was immature.
