"This card cannot be destroyed by battle with a DARK monster, and any Battle Damage you take as a result of that battle becomes 0. DARK monsters cannot attack, and neither player can Normal Summon or Special Summon DARK monsters."

This card seems like a very good side deck card.

From the looks of that text, Dark monsters can still be set, so... Its not exactly as overwhelming as it seems. As such, there's nothing preventing someone from setting Bora & Icarus Attack, and then tributing that face-down monster to destroy this fairy.

However, since a decktype like Blackwings won't be setting many cards naturally, they'll likely be forced to set something that they otherwise wouldn't want to. That alone can help you move forward more quickly, so I can easily see this being sided if Dark decks are popular in your area.

This could still potentially slow down BWs even though there are a lot of ways around it. Great side deck card imo.

Holy Light doesnt have plum on BW with some of the additions from the new list that they can use. Multiple Fissures or Smashing Ground really make it so this card has no staying power.

Really doesnt help when they also have Icarus where they can just set the card their tribute card and still take out Holy Light.

Also what BW deck plays multiple Fissure/Smashing? Any card that FORCES removal via Icarus Attack is a game changer. Would you argue that SIM is bad against Vayu because of Icarus Attack and multiple cards that act as S/T removal (MST, Heavy, etc.)?

Its a new option with the godawful list that is around now, plus Icarus is one of their best set up cards even if they have to use it on something as annoying as Holy Light.

SIM is pretty bad against BW because you dont do much else but annoy them with it. They still special summon, Bora and BWAW still trample, and notablely, you only really hurt Vayu which wont last for long when they pitch one to destroy or bounce SIM.

A good BW player would be aware you're likely to side in Consecrated Light and therefor choose what he sides accordingly. Also, I wouldn't side in SiM against BW. After all, BW used to side Skill Drain, and sure SiM will hit Vayu where as Skill Drain won't, but most people only use 1-2 Vayu anyways. Plus, BW already main more potential backrow hate than most decks thanks to Icarus Attack, and then side into even more so they can get around things like Trap Hole.

I wanna say that some BW decks will start to main more than one Smashing Ground/Fissure for taking care of Holy Light without having to waste a Vortex or Icarus to clear out one card.

I think Skill Drain would be the better card to use against BW. At leastyou can shut down Synchros not named Colossal Fighter and Stardust Dragon and keep them from bringing out Armor Master to wall you with SIM on the field.

I would like to tech this in Krysta Sworn and see how it runs. But, it would be in Side until I hit Blackwings or some other Dark Based deck.

its a new short print common, 0atk/0def dark monsters cant be S.S and cant attack, and this monster isnt dead if a dark battles it and i take no damage from that attack.

so, blackwing killer? is it side deck worthy?

very much so, I play this card in all of my side decks at my locals for the simple reason that everyone is still Dark Heavy. It really does slow everything down as long as they don't Lightning vortex you, solomn, or ect...

Again good card to side deck ^_^

I don't see blackwings having a huge problem with this.
They'll simply side in skill drain more often.
