At your participating GameStops from now until Feb 14th Participating GameStops will be giving away A "special" Shiny Pichu that WILL be needed to unlock the Spiky Eared Pichu in HG/SS when the games are released. This is the ONLY way to unlock the in-game event for Spiky Eared Pichu.

Yes, its 100% free, but you must have mystery gift unlocked, which means you've had to have at least gotten as far as Jubilife City in your copy of the game (shouldnt be THAT hard) Serebii also has a guide on how too unlock Mystery Gift if you havent done so already.

How ever many copies of platinum/Diamond/Pearl you have...youll be able to get the Pichu once on each of them for free. I would highly advise it as once the event ends, you can probably trade away extras for good stuff from kids who were unable to go or dont have a gameStop nearby.

rofl anyone willing to trade a shiny pichu for my event Celebi? got it from pokepark when it came over here 100% sure it can unlock the event Giovannis Secret in HGSS I duplicated them in emerald though if you dont mind. The event still works.

The shiny pichu is also available over regular wi-fi mystery gift, you don't need to go to Gamestop. I got mine the other day, but it's only available until March 25.
