So like its been discussed for a while now, we're going ahead with an online draft once all current "on site" wars have been completed.

More information will be up soon, but the general idea is that all existing teams will be archived, everyone will be entered into a pool, and team leaders will be chosen. Then, all remaining players will be drafted onto teams as fairly as possible by the leaders & council members. What this means is that instead of needing to make your own teams & start from the bottom, every player will have an equal oppertunity to establish themselves & learn from the best.

... Play your strongest card.

I don't like this. It isn't really a draft if you guys are just gonna split us up like it's a day in gym class.

Besides, how do you guys decide who's good and who's bad? How do you decide who goes on what team without making some opinion based judgment on how good someone may or may not be?

This is pretty much the bastard child of the original idea. It's whatever though. If this turns to plum I'll just war on YF.

Have a little faith, especially when you don't know all of the details yet, and not everything that has been said was clearly stated. The first draft will be the roughest, and most opinion based, the second will be much, much better because we'll have everyone's war records to look at, and we'll be more aware of what needs to be done/fixed/changed. The third, forth, etc? Better each time as we build up stats on everyone and make needed adjustments to the system.

do not let council interfere, it should be up to the leaders and leaders alone who pick their players.

If by council you mean this people:

Then that is terrible because only 1.75 people have even played yugioh in the war section in like a year. How will these people know if a player is good or not. Word of mouth? I could give like 100 reasons right now, but I'm missing my NBA All Stars so yeah.

Yes, make assumptions and then apple about them, that's helpful. I don't think I've seen anything other than complaining and nay saying out of you, and I'm getting tired of it, you don't even play anymore last I checked, and when you did, you weren't active. We've already been over this issue and solved it, but since we don't know who the captains are yet, we can't tell you who will be on the council.

I'm out of the loop right now, so I dont know when whoever took this over is going to post the details, but they need to hurry up and take care of that...

I for one do not like this idea. YF is here as a branch of our site team and I'd rather not see any of my players go to other teams.

I understand you wanting to keep your team as is, especially since it's another sites team, but we're hoping the draft league will be a lot more fun, active, and less serious/drama filled than what we have now. That's not to say we want things to be any less competitive or skilled of course, since another goal of this thing is to not only have our skilled players who already play in the war section playing in the draft league, but also to raise the general skill level of everyone involved.

If I had to describe what we have now it would be: YGO is serious business, so you better not lose. Which leads to drama, dodging, poor activity, and new people not getting on teams, or getting wrecked, and recieving little/no help improving. With new people not getting to play, or not sticking around long, the war section slowly dies as the current players get busy, get tired of playing ygo, or get fedup with the atmosphere in the section.

What we're aiming for is: Ygo is serious busines, but losing is ok because we're all just trying to be the best we can be. Yes, I realize how corny that sounds, but if we can foster that kind of mentality this should be a huge success as it will solve most of the sections current issues.

Keep in mind this draft thing is in no way permanent, so if it doesn't work after we give it an honest try, we can always go back to the current system.

I understand your position. YF has had a few players sign in the draft so we'll see how it goes.

I vote for MM as a captain btw. He is one of the active, if not the most active member in the war section, he has a great understaning of the game and he is really good.

Picking captains will be the hardest part probably. It's a fine line to choose captains based on skill, activity, and leadership. All three are needed from the captains in order for this to work.

I'm not that great of a player so I don't want to be captain. I'd rather learn from you guys and get better.
