After about an hour of constant play my Xbox shuts off by itself and I get the rrod. It won't turn back on. If I unplug it and replug it everything becomes perfect for another hour.

What is this?

SEND IT BACK. IT HAS THE RROD PROBLEM. CAPS ARE FUN.

In all seriousness though. It's broken. Happened to me twice. Annoying as hell when I'm about to get a high score in ROCK BAND.

Check your power supply. When you get an RRoD, does the indicator light on the PSU change to red? If so, see if you can get ahold of another PSU and cable. Check the power cable connection to the Xbox and the PSU itself. Be sure that the PSU isn't buried in anything, and that it isn't hot/can't breathe. Make sure there isn't a brown discoloration or scorch mark where the power cable plugs into the Xbox.

If the PSU seems to be fine, might be easiest to just ship it off. But if you do send it off, if your current PSU appears to be fine, try using another one before boxing it up. Just in case.

I noticed that yesterday. It does turn to red and I looked it up online. I have to try it with a PSU I know works. 90% sure it's the PSU and not the 360 itself.

Thanks

The inside is bronze, is that bad?

Is your Power Brick plugged into a wall outlet, or a surge protector? If it's in a protector, sometimes it won't draw enough power.

Wall outlet, I thought the PSU works as a sure protector?

I need to try the 360 with a PSU I know works 100% fine. After that I will update this
