I definitely think a lot of people don't see that Lightsworn is still something to worry about.

I still side LIM.

;D

EDIT: Not to say that's all you need to beat LS. Just saying I never stopped siding them just because LS got hit. They have a good engine and a few other options besides "JD Wins Games."

It's still a top deck, but I wouldn't say it's the clear cut best. There are a number of very competitive decks this format

Well no plum. I think its not the fact that people are overlooking or ignoring Lightsworn now. On the contrary. A lot of people probably still acknowledge and realize LS's gonna remain on top. AKA its a given that LS will still remain dominant and probably assumed as common knowledge. The fact that LS has become substantially weaker however means that more players will now focus on other decks that have an opening now in the new meta.
Let them eat their damn cake.

It's good that most of you realize that it is still the best.
Also, I too thought Flamvells were the way to go, but they aren't.

I haven't lost a game to Lightsworn the entire format yet (about 9 or 10 games) and I've been using untested Monarch Varients.

Time will prove your statement to be true or false. As for now, it seems in Tier 1 still to me, but not that imaginary Tier 0 area it seemed to be in Last Format. Definently not.

Best.dek since the only thing that wrecks it is GB and Final Countdown.

FlamCat is good, but not good enough.

GB opens bad, you win, GB opens good you still have a shot, since most GB players are terrible.

Def still really tough to battle. It's a lot easier to fight against without all the protection it had, but a god hand still makes it a tough battle.

Satoshi Kato's deck with modifications for this format, is unreal. It's really consistent. A variant won our locals tonight, and beat me in cash games.

Satoshi cheated with his deck though (hearing this directly form people that were actually there.)
Although, this seems to be the case with most of the foreigners....

Even if the GB player is good, it's LS, you have a decent chance anyways, and a good side deck helps a ton. Plus, knowing GB is one of the top decks this format right now, you can adjust your main deck to give you a better chance against them game one, which has the bonus of helping you against Cat and BW decks too.

James, expect me to be bugging you on aim at some point about the deck, because I don't know what it looked like to begin with, I'm curious what changes were made to update it for this format...and I'm just generally curious about the deck now thanks to you anyways.

You know its a good format when Final Countdown is tier 1.5 or better.
