It's just an abstract digital painting that I did with GIMP. Also, I don't have Photoshop, so I couldn't have used a PSD file. I did this all on my own.

You need to follow some tutorials, no offense but this is pretty bad.

Could you explain why it is bad? I don't mind the criticism, but maybe a reason would make your case better...

It has no flow, focal point, lack of a design, no contrast. It lacks a lot of basic structure for a picture.

That's because it is up for interpretation. If you look at the design, you can see alot of hidden things, but these hidden things are different for everyone.

I actually like this sig.
The above people are right about a focal point and the other comments.
It is interesting to look at and looks like it has a nice texture.
I especially like that cloud looking object in the bottom left of the sig.
You may want to read up on some tutorials to maybe improve a bit, but not a bad job at all.

BTW don't know why some people are being rude in here.

It's not very appealing to the eye. I appreciate that you're trying to go for an abstract style, but you could have used colors that didn't look like vomit. The direction of the signature is all over the place and so is the composition; where exactly is my eye supposed to go. Art is meant to guide the eye towards the focal of the piece, even abstracts have some sort of focal.

I let my eyes go out of focus, and I've noticed that my eyes go towards the center, as the weird shape that looks like breasts(unintended effect) just pulls everything together.

Also, I'd like the thank Johnny for being professional, and I accept your criticism. Mikhail, I also thank you.

What I love to see in a tag/signature is something that looks like it would be there, but really wasn't. There's other styles also, but the way I see it you need something about your piece to be your own. The problem with your signature is that it's flat, no focal point or flow. It's a bunch of filters combined with nothing only you could have contributed. You're going to have to learn and understand GFX concepts in order to be able to freestyle successfully. I started by doing a lot of tutorials. You can check out our tutorial section, check out planetrenders or other big gfx websites for tutorials, or I can send you a few to get you started.

Those concepts I was mentioning can be found here in a post by Mystic. (Flow, Depth, Texture, etc.)

This is good for a beginner.
Read up on Color Theory and composition for art pieces. I understand that you're going for abstract, but they still follow some rules.

I currently like the way I make art, so maybe it's not so much abstract as it is experimental. Would you rather just call it experimental art?

I am however trying very hard to modify this piece with the advice currently given in this topic, although I've found that this piece is a huge mess... When I actually do make a newer version, I will post it here.

Thanks everyone!

Well, if what you make happens to be drastically different or otherwise it's own embodiment, you could always start a new thread with a link back to this one or something. I mean that way, all of the previous feedback won't be lost, but it also won't be confused with your new "masterpiece" either.
