I've got a Holiday themed mafia game coming up, as in the roles are the holidays themselves not something gay like a Valentine's Day theme, and while I've put a decent amount of time into it, it's mostly so I can get some host experience, try out some new roles/powers, and so I can gauge how interested I am in putting a lot of time into creating a bigger/more creative/more detailed game. I feel I should also warn you all this game I'm proposing may not happen if the Holiday game doesn't go well because of inactive players.

The One Piece themed game would have the following features:

Lots of roles that all have powers
Cause vanilla roles suck. Powers will likely have priority rankings, might have limit usage, and might have attack strength. Roles may have health point values. All of those will depend on what game mechanics I decide to use for the day/night lynches.

Off board.
It's more of a hassle, but you all know it's nice not to be prejudged, or always get killed early, because you're...you. Plus, it's necessary for another feature I want to implement.

New(ish?) faction system.
Instead of the normal factions that we give different names based on the theme of the game(lots of Town, few Mafia, few Neutrals), I want to have 3+ factions of equal strength(or as close to it as I can get with all the different powers) all duking it out to see who will win in a battle royal.

New Day lynch/Night kill mechanics.
With 3 Factions of equal strength and the same win condition the normal methods used in games won't cut it. I may use something like the "Master System", or I may come up with something completely original. Whatever I do, relax, I'm really detailed oriented and balance conscious, so it should be good.

Faction Playable Characters(FPCs).
FPCs will be assigned to each faction and will have their own roles/powers. During the day phase anyone on the FPC's faction will be able to log into the FPC's account and post on it in order to try and fool the other factions into thinking the FPC is a normal account. Each night phase the faction of the FPC will decide how to use the FPC's power. Other than that the FPC will function as normal.

The reason I want to include FPCs is because ETC's player base is small, and I'd rather not leave out cool roles in the different factions(for example the Straw Hat Crew has 9 people itself, so the other factions would have just as many). Of course if we can get enough players that FPCs aren't needed that would be amazing, but getting enough people who won't be inactive is unlikely. In the case of inactive players, FPCs give me another option besides subbing the player out(which is needed as we usually don't have enough subs), because if I can't find a sub I can turn the player into an FPC the rest of his team can control. Yes finding a sub is the optimal choice, but if that can't be done turning an inactive player into an FPC is better than having a person on your team who doesn't post/vote/use their power, and if a sub is later found I can always turn it back into a regular account.

Unique Item system
Each faction will be given items it specifically made for it that will be unable to be stolen from them(although they will be able to be damaged/destroyed). Overall theme based items like treasure chests containing items possessing small powers, keys to open treasure chests, maps to find treasure chests/keys, etc, will be randomly distributed among all the players in the game and will be able to be stolen/transfered like in normal games.

Detailed Roles and a game based story
I always like it when roles have pictures and background character information rather than just the standard name/power/alliance, and I like reading host created stories at the beginning/end of each day recapping/explaining the actions of the phase in a theme related manner, and since I really appreciate hosts that took the time to do these things I'll return the favor in my game.

So, thoughts?

So for the three factions I'm thinking:

Straw Hat Crew(obv)
World Government: 4 Admirals + 5 Shichibukai. Hancock and Jimbei would not be included because they're not against Luffy.
(Taking Suggestions for the 3rd faction)

I'm considering having the Shichibukai be their own faction and adding in a few other Marine/World Government characters like Garp and Sengoku. So, uh, yeah, taking suggestions for what the factions should be. Keep in mind a faction must have 9 or more people, and I need to know the powers/abilities of all or most of the people in the faction. I could create powers from scratch, but when we later find out what those people can do and I'm way off it will bug the hell out of me so I'd rather avoid that if possible.

Sounds pretty neat.

3 factions with equal strength seems really cool.

as long as you can equally distribute the kill ratio (like have 3 phases where each group kills respectively, or something like that, you will be fine.

This will come down to which 2 groups decide to work together off the bat right away, and who can blend in the best with the other 2 groups.
