Man, sony. What do I say...

I just always feel like recent sony stuff is a big piece of broken no library ATTEMPT at something, (and that was the revamp'd version!).

PS2 was the plum(the good the plum). Price, library. THE plum MY NIGS

PS3 was a box of pricey non gaming related wires and crappy online I bought just to play GoW and Uncharted.

And those dudes, I've had my fill on. I don't wanna portable 4th iteration epics.

I want a reasonably priced battery lifed not-stretching itself past it's limits to the point of uselessness handheld. With a library good for portable gaming that I CARE about, not just 1 MGS game.

I just don't give a plum about this handheld one bit.

IDGAS about 3-D either, although the 3ds's library is intriguing.

Maybe the DSLite was the peak before the decline.

In summary, trying new things is fine but making a somewhat standardish quality gaming system is best.

The 3DS is no better in price either as its more expensive as a Wii and the tax alone could make it just as expensive as the other consoles
My point being that I can play just about every game on the PS3 in most likely better quality on a bigger screen. I'm gonna expect a lot of ports to this thing more than anything.

I generally get Sony consoles but handhelds have always been Nintendo for me. Depending on the price of the NGP which looks to be quite expensive, this time will be no different unless the price drops or it's at a competitive price starting out.

An interesting survey was done in Japan to figure why the 3DS wasnt topping sales. The number one reason was its high price/waiting for a price drop.

If the 3DS is struggling, what hope does the NGP have is the Japanese people are already sticklers about the price of handhelds?

Japan's market for games has been shrinking for quite a while now, sure stuff like Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy still sell in the millions over there, but handhelds are the dominant market over there right now (I believe due to games and series that fit eastern tastes have migrated to the handhelds) and thus they usually sell about 5,000 units a week over consoles, unless a huge game for consoles is released such as a new Final Fantasy.

I wouldn't really argue that the price is the limiting factor in the 3DS sales machine, games definately is though. The only really big game on the horizon for the 3DS with a solid release date is the OoT remake, although I expect E3 to drop bombshell after bombshell of release dates for 3DS games.

In fact, I'd say that Nintendo's top priority for E3 2011 is to sell the 3DS to the people who are on the fence about the system. Dangle a few big games in front of their faces and watch your stagnant sales disappear, Ninty.

Funny you should mention the games, because the one piece 3DS game is leading in Japan currently, over any other handheld title. Then again, the Japanese love their anime based games.

Well, One Piece has the same popularity (if not more) as Dragonball Z had in it's day in japan. The only reason that we don't get many OP games over here is because the OP license is infamous over here as 4Kids effectively ruined any chance of it being as popular as Bleach or Naruto.

It's a shame that the annual DBZ title still sells like hotcakes, even though bandai have been making pretty much the same arena fighter for the past 6 years or so.

The Playstation Vita(NGP) has a price of $250 bucks. I did not see that coming. I was expected a $300-$350 price range. Guess Sony finally learned they can't charge a large amount of money just because they have the top of the line technology. Hopefully that mindset carries on to whenever they announce the Playstation 4.

I plan on purchasing Vita. The graphics on it were amazing. Cross game chat is on it also.

The Vita was a nice surprise. I expected it to end up being more like the Go then the leaks were suggesting, but it was truly epic.

I'll get the Vita. I'm not sure if I get it day one, but I'll definitely get it eventually. The online functionality seemed to have better support than the PSN. Party chat? I'd like some of that on my PS3 as well.
