In Portal 2 the player returns as Chell, having been in stasis for several hundred years while GLaDOS and the rest of the Aperture Science facility has fallen into disrepair. Chell is awakened by one of GLaDOS's personality cores, and inadvertently wakes GLaDOS; GLaDOS is immediately displeased at Chell's return and begins testing her again through numerous chambers as she rebuilds the dilapidated facility. Portal 2 continues to challenge the player through numerous platforming and physics-based puzzles using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (ASHPD, also dubbed the "portal gun"), a device that can create a temporary wormhole between almost any two flat surfaces. Other gameplay elements are added to Portal 2 including tractor beams, laser redirection, and special paint-like gels, taken from the Independent Games Festival-winning DigiPen student project Tag: The Power of Paint, that imparts special properties to objects it touches, such as increased momentum. Portal 2 also includes a two-player co-operative mode in which each player-character is a robot that has become self-aware due to GLaDOS' influence, and requires the players to work together with their own portal guns to complete each level.

One of the few games I'm actually excited for. I heard that the PS3 version gives you a free copy of the PC version if you connect your PSN with Steamworks. So I'm wondering if I can just buy the PS3 version, redeem the PC version then trade in/return the PS3 version and save myself a decent amount of money.

That'd be a great deal. I'll probably wait til it goes on sale, so I won't be playing it for awhile

I'm only gonna buy it if it costs $20 and comes with HL3 and TF2's console updates.

Do you have the option of getting on any other system? The Xbox 360 version is definitely the weakest of the bunch.

It's still the same game. Stop being such an elitist orange.

Alas, poor Yorick.

Except that it's not. The PS3 version can play online with PC players and vice-versa, it will also have access to the same user-made mods that the PC version has access to. Gabe even stated at E3 that the PS3 will be the best console version.

How about you stop being an ignorant orangegot, because like you, I'm pretty that he wasn't aware of the differences.

Play any of these games on Steam to help Portal 2 launch early. If you really want to help try and get the potatoes for each of those.

Idk, I mean Live doesn't need to team with PC to have a robust online community and who gives a plum about the possibility of maybe decent user made content in a few years.

I'm just always wary of buying anthing for PS where internet matters.

I dont have a PS3. I only use my PC for WoW and Gunz the Duel. I use my 360 to play everything my Wii cant. But I do plan on getting a PS3 one day, its just that system has very few games that warrant buying another system over...especially if those same games are on 360. (speaking purely in terms of games I like, for example I fuggin hate JRPGs) Im not gonna lie though, I enjoy Xbox Live and playing older games like Splinter Cell Double Agent.

EDIT: Oh, I never liked Steam.

The game came out about 10 minutes ago for PC, and a slew of reviews are going up.

Played the first Portal game. I liked the game and plan to buy this game when it goes down in price. Do that or trade in my other games to GameStop to get it.

Is it like a game ruining spoiler or the kind that you shrug at and dont care too much about?

Either way, I will probably will wait to get the game until its cheaper. The new FF4 bundle sold itself inside of a second for me.

It pretty much destroys the possible immersion I could have had with the story.
