So Sony and Square tried to ninja this out into the market and I was pleasantly surprised that this came out with the previously unavailable sequel The After Years.

FF4 itself is based off the GBA port with the extra dungeons available and is lacking the Augments and the addition of Whyt.

The After Years, for those that havent had the chance to play the episodic releases on the Wii, is the Sequel set 15 years after the end of FF4 and features all of the original characters along with several new characters as well.

I'd say more but I think I would be lynched for spoiling.

Discuss.

I'm enjoying this so much, plus the chance to play through and finish The After Years made this too hard to pass up. I didnt like how they decided to release it on Wii at a price that would end up costing almost as much as a full game release. Going to be fun to see how things turned out since I think I stopped around Palom or Porom's story's on there.

Its on PSP via UMD and PSN.

Game just looks gorgeous with the HD sprites that are used in the PSP ports of Final Fantasy games. If this was just FF4, I doubt anyone would care since they went with the GBA version of the game. The draw I see for many people picking this up will be getting their hands on Interlude which I believe has never gotten a release outside of Japan and The After Years which was previously a cell phone released and WiiWare via episodic content.

My main concern for TAY is that they fixed the drops and the RNG as people abused the overly simple RMG for farming off overpowered gear for the final chapter.

I'd like to see 5 being remade too, never got the chance to finish playing through it or 6

grape 7 and its remake rumors. I've heard them for so long that I stopped really caring when they pop up again.

What what its worth, the DS version plays far differently since you can get other people's abilitys and make your class pointless. I would consider the SNES/GBA version harder because you are stuck with set classes/abilities and cant mix and match for the best party.

Why so obsessed with 4? It's a good game but I'd rather play 3, or 6-10 than 4. (American numbering)

I never could pick a real favorite out of 4 and 6. Two best FF games to come out imo.
