other borderlands thread is like really old so
I leveled to 69 today like a boss [just run machinehead or whatever sledge's new name was]
however, after going through armory again, all I got was like a lv 68 bulldog and surkov
also a better shield is useful. almost 3k I think.
killing Knoxx was harder than before, I need a level 69 Anarchy ;[
Haven't even tried to approach soloing Craw, also the drops would suck anyway lol
Still no pearls. I think a Bessie would solve all of my problems but whatever, that is probably what everyone says
ALSO Spectre mod with sniper ammo regen, was not found, and honestly has anyone even SEEN on with ammo regen lol
Not sure what to spend extra skill points on, so I'm going to end up with 3 points in the phase-melee boost, haha. My build is literally only for killing Knoxx.
Oh yeah, haven't really gotten far in Clap trap DLC. I did a couple quests but they were all the same, and I have 0/100 clap trap parts right now because I am TIRED OF COLLECTING THESE DARN PARTS. AND PIZZA AND 3D GLASSES. because the collect 30 and then the collect 75 it was lame. So yeah I might do that later.
But I want teh weaponz.
also I'm guessing that most of the borderlands players moved on but whatever, I just wanted to talk about my adventures and semi-useful-again Crimson Fastness runs that yielded like nothing lol. Got a Defiler and a Firehawk though, but I'm not a rangerrrr

I never got into this game. Seemed like way too much rinse-repeat and that in addition to certain aspects like extremely limited inventory space and constant backtracking just ruined it for me.
Alas, poor Yorick.

The inventory space isn't that limited, you have to complete side-quests (Claptrap rescues) to get more of it. You eventually have like forty something slots in your inventory iirc, which is more than you really need
Haven't even played the Claptrap DLC yet, but I can imagine farming Crawmerax or the Armory isn't going to yield the best results. I always got better drops from Craw than the Armory honestly, but that's only because he dropped Hellfires and Defilers everywhere when we killed him.

Have not played this much the last few months since we pretty much ran out of things to do. I still love this game though and will probably make a new character soon to play through again.

You like collecting useless items to get achievements more than having a place to keep your stuff and extra skill points?
... You would.
Also, why on earth are you bothering with a Bulldog/Surkov on a Siren in the first place? If you're just killing Knoxx, then optimal strategy imo would be to use a Plaguebearer build with one point used just to open up Mind Games to the buffs, maxing bullet damage/velocity, etc. like you would for a Mercenary Build, and going at him with a Crux/Defiler/Chimera/whatever that Pearl SMG that no one actually has is called/etc. and Corrosive MIRV/Bouncing Bettie grenades.
Alternatively you could go with a Mercenary build if you have that SMG or can acquire a Double Anarchy or something, but with Incendiary Return and maxed Radiance/Blackout/Hit & Run/etc. The idea is Phasewalk -> run around, electrocute the grape out of everyone -> run up to Knoxx -> come out of phasewalk, preferably with a melee attack, he takes corrosive, incendiary, and shock damage (all of which is now stacking) -> pump SMG rounds into his face -> the medics etc. should have died and accordingly readied phasewalk again by the time the clip empties -> go back into phasewalk, repeat as necessary
I actually crashed the 360 playing through Zombie Island with a build like that (with a Hellfire obviously substituted for the Anarchy), the game couldn't calculate how much damage I was doing and just started making this really loud robot-vomiting noise and froze on a shot of a horde of zombies/tankers on this bridge with a giant blur of numbers above them

I was rating them all on story more than what they bring, in which case 2 and 4 would be even because decent story+ cap increase is about even with the bank.

i'm saying that all i found during my first lv 69 Knoxx run was a Bulldog and a Surkov, not that I was using them
so these are my highest level weapons atm - and they will help me kill Knoxx the next time I try to run it.
since it was my first lv 69 run, all of my weapons were level 61 and below. Understand that level 61 weapons don't do too much to a level 70 Knoxx.
I would be running an Anarchy and probably could kill him very fast with a good level 69 Anarchy if I had one.
During the pre-69 days, just a level 61 Anarchy would take him down in about 20 seconds with the Merc mod.
I don't think Mind Games work on bosses like Knoxx and Craw since they are always a higher level than you..?

That's a good point. Twice now, I've had to get him to half, kill all the medics, then get him to 1/4 from full -_-, ignore the BA Devastator, and kill him. ;[
Does Daze really last that long?

I don't know how effective using daze on the medics really is, since I just kill them before they are able to throw down their turrets anyway. It is fairly easy to keep them from healing Knoxx.
I miss this game.
