[The Main Event]

I'm shocked there isn't a thread about this already. I'm a huge Gears fan, used to play GoW2 online all the time, and with Gears 3 finally here, what are everyone's thoughts about the game? Anything Gears 3 related can be posted/discussed here.

I'm not getting it for a while, as most people are hitting the campaign hard. People who haven't played much Gears 1 and 2 are going to struggle with this though. Either way, Gears 2 for me was always the game to beat and no matter how much, that it annoyed me, I found that, I could always go back to it

Ill add GT at the start of October when all the Campaign hype is over and done with.

Love Gears 3. Gears 2 was really, really bad when it comes to multiplayer but Epic made up for it tremendously. And it is funny seeing all the COD players on Gears for the first few days.

Campaign is fun but really annoying at the same time.

Still trying to get used to having to hold x for almost anything in regards to pickups instead of the just simple press from 1 and 2

The main reason they did was to help with the nagging issue people had when stuff lying on the ground overlapped and wanted to pick up something specific you would be spamming X and end up withe wrong item over and over...it was worse in multiplayer when you had a downed ally you wanted to revive and a damn weapon right next to him and kept picking up the useless weapon. -_-

So glad that the Multiplayer actually works now. You can definitely see the bad players who had host quite often in Gears 2 getting exposed.

I'm still annoyed by a couple of minor things myself.

Been playing a couple private matches for executions, plums, and giggles, and I'm already getting fed up with watching people body a sawed-off a foot from their chest.

I can see doing that with the Gnasher, but the Sawed-Off being bodied like nothing is a bit infuriating.

The best multiplayer of the series, the worst campaign of the series.

The only good thing campaign really has going for it is four player online. That's about it. I'm on my third campaign playthrough and I'm already sick of it. That didn't happen with either of the other games. The storyline never actually progresses anywhere at all, the boss fights are lame, and overall for something that should have delivered an epic conclusion to a trilogy, it just felt bland.

Multiplayer is fun though. And Horde 2.0 is awesome. Beast is cool for a couple times but then it's just super repetitive and the waves only go to 12.

No offense, but the campaign is great. The boss fights can be tedious and there are some really pain in the ass fights, but there really isnt anything wrong with the campaign for me.

I still have a lot of love for the Gears 1 campaign but Gears 2's was..a mess to say the least. The amount of tedious driving missions and repetitive fights didn't do it for me.

As for the sawed-off shotgun, it's annoying if you're playing multiplayer and a full team of 5 is running them but it's usually easy to deal with for me. I still much prefer the Gnasher and usually end up hammerbursting the hell out of anyone with a sawed-off before they can think of what to do.
