Spiders. And generally any other anthropod. But spiders really get me in particular. I have once nearly failed to sleep because I couldn't stop watching one crawl on my ceiling. No matter what I do, they always seem to find a way in, and my fear seems to greatly annoy almost anyone else I am living with.

Honestly, I don't think any of these (except possibly the elevator one) are irrational. If anything, being afraid of possibly harmful insects while you sleep or the possibly of drowning seems the common sense of knowing you're not invincible to me.

To be fair, a vast majority of spiders and insects are relatively harmless to humans, and I am aware this. I am more afraid of their appearance than being bitten, as well as the sensation you feel while one is crawling on you.

Well It's still freaky haha, and I've woken up with spider bites before. They're not painful or anything but grape. I love spiders & all, but I don't want them crawling on my, especially if they're gonna get into my eyes & hair.

Exactly the same thing. I freak out from any kind of insects except for Ants. Also, if I am in bathtub and the lights went off I kinda freak out too or imagine bad things from horror movies, heh.

Heights, but only when I fell like I'm not in a secure location. Going up on a roller coaster, in the beginning, is the worst part of the ride by FAR.

Good luck ever visiting NYC, unless you like going up 50 flights and losing 5lbs a day

I used to have a fear of heights. Not anymore. Don't really fear anything anymore.

I don't have a fear of heights, but I'm decently afraid of falling from tall ladders, especially when it's windy, and especially if the ladder that I'm falling off of plans on falling on me.

While I was staying there, I was on the 16th floor of the Novotel in Times Square

Still didn't use the elevator.

That's actually where my screen name came from (conversation between my friend Jeremy and I where I mentioned that just looking at the elevator made me feel like I was going to plummet sixteen stories to my death and he commented that the building didn't have a thirteenth floor so it'd technically only be a fifteen story fall).

asking "hmm?" or "what?" when speaking over the phone with people whose primary language is not english

because it is not due to me not being able to understand what they are saying, i simply have pretty bad hearing and sometimes i can't understand anything said over a phone

anyway i have a fear of doing this because i don't want to undermine their confidence or make them feel like they are not enunciating well enough but this is all something that i can't easily say when i am on the phone with someone i don't know, not because i am afraid to say it but because it is going very far out of the way when it was simply one word that i did not catch

so i guess i'm more afraid of the constraint of not really being able to explain why i couldn't hear them

also, expiring too loudly. i am not a mouth breather, but it's kind of like how you can't hear anything while eating cereal because of where the sound is being generated. i'm not sure how loudly others hear my breathing, but if it seems loud to me i consciously take shallower breaths
