with the recent advent of wind-up and inzektor, this deck has been forced to evolve. despairingly, this does cause occasional consistency issues, but not really. this deck tends to draw an overabundance of cards and has a constant plethora of resources to choose from at all times and in almost all situations aside from random dire ones that hardly occur. all of you should go try this deck right now.

2 light and darkness dragon
3 caius the shadow monarch
3 sea lancer
2 dupe frog
3 swap frog
2 ronintoadin
1 treeborn frog
2 poison draw frog
1 gorz, emissary of darkness
2 tragoedia
1 sangan
1 neo-spacian grand mole
3 maxx "C"
1 effect veiler

the core of tribute monsters is self-explanatory. all of your tribute monsters generate +1's and +2's etc. aside from Gorz and Tragoedia, which you aren't tributing for under normal circumstances.

the frog engine is also self-explanatory because it's how this deck generates momentum. with treeborn, you have constant tribute fodder, and the ronins can be utilized as tribute fodder or xyz material. poison draw frog is here solely for use with ronintoadin and sea lancer, assisting you in maintaining field presence and hand advantage through the use of it's effect in tandem with lancer.

all of the hand traps; gorz, tragoedia, maxx c and veiler are all to stimy decks that make huge pushes and/or attempt to loop cards out of your hand/destroy a number of cards on your field and swing for game. basically they are an insurance policy, and are actually game-changing if played in the right instant.

grand mole is the sleeper mvp of the deck. searchable by sangan if nothing else is optimal, mole can really wreak havoc on a field if given the opportunity. with all of the free monsters that this deck can essentially create every turn, summoning your mole will almost always end in a +1 for the user. coupled with sea lancer, mole is an absolute advantage monster, and ends games in a matter of turns if your opponent can't capitalize on the cards they have in their hand.

3 mystical space typhoon
2 salvage
3 enemy controller
1 pot of avarice
1 foolish burial
1 heavy storm
1 monster reborn
1 dark hole

my choice to play a full set of mystical space typhoon stems from this deck's weakness to gravekeeper and dark world and how excellent space typhoon is right now in general due to cards like fiendish chain rising in popularity. considering this deck cannot maintain a consistent draw engine and needs a decent flow of outs to the opponent's backrow, 3 space typhoon seemed to make sense, and it's tested really well.

2 salvage and pot of avarice don't do anything for the already plumty gravekeeper matchup, but they help set up in the early game and make this deck nigh-invincible in the late game due to it completely obliterating anything in a war of attrition.

triple enemy controller is the reason this deck is good, and is your main offensive tool. treeborn frog makes e-con an essentially free brain control, not to mention it puts two tributes on the board for LADD and gorz if worse comes to worse. this card allows for huge pushes and major, game-shifting control plays that allow you to pretty much dictate the entire tempo of the game.

3 mobius the frost monarch
3 vanity's fiend
3 soul exchange
1 twister
1 obelisk the tormenter
2 the end of anubis
1 effect veiler
1 prime material dragon

literally all but the 2 end of anubis are effective against gravekeeper because that's our worst matchup. mobius, soul exchange, twister, prime material and the 2 end of anubis can be sided against backrow heavy decks. against wind-up and inzektor, soul exchanges and vanitys/anubis/prime/obelisk are recommended. vanity's also destroys rabbit and agents, and prime is also for the latter. basically you can decide for yourself what to side in what matchups, seeing as it should be pretty obvious what effects hurt what decks.

3 gachi gachi gantetsu
2 number 96: dark mist
1 leviair the sea dragon
1 number 17: leviathan dragon
1 trishula, dragon of the ice barrier
1 stardust dragon
1 scrap dragon
1 gungnir, dragon of the ice barrier
1 black rose dragon
1 ancient fairy dragon
1 brionac, dragon of the ice boundary
1 chimeratech fortress dragon

this is the extra. trishula, the xyz and chimeratech are staple. black rose, scrap, brio and stardust are also pretty necessary. other than that, add/remove whatever you want. the cards that i have in this extra are the cards that i've found to be the most useful after weeks/months of playtesting.

Salvage doesn't look that great. It will net you a +1 yeah, but it's also quite potentially a dead draw, and the only cards I'd imagine you typically bringing back with it being the Snowman-Eaters and Lancers, the Frogs are better off in the Grave and it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to get Treeborn and Ronin in the Grave off a single Swap.

Also, post-ORCS I'd recommend fitting in a few End of Anubis in the side or main. They shut down Inzektors/Wind-Ups, in pretty much all matchups besides the Rabbit one it functions better than Vanity's right now.

I was also thinking of dropping 1x Salvage for Mind Control.

EoA is interesting tech as well.

You don't have to convince me. I've already played the deck a little on DN. Sea Lancer is just fun.

This deck is fun as hell. I once played against someone who used this deck. Man, banish some frogs for double Ronin into Gachi2, and then summon lancer for huge plus. I was like, "wtf? This guy's a beast!"

Anyway, props for posting this deck, and topping with it.

I run 3 Salvages, just because a Salvage and Swap Frog is a 2nd turn (or even first turn) graveyard fully set up. Normally they are dead later in the game aside from returning the occasional Sea Lancer and Snowman Eaterm but I normally have a crazy amount of cards in hand so it doesn't matter to much. But anyways, I really like your deck, congrats on the top.

I'll just ask here as opposed to Pojo. Why do you play Trag's now? Is it a meta call? Is it for Dark Mist plays? Because damn that card is amazing.

And I just saw Foolish Burial, why do you need Foolish when Swap can set up the Grave with everything you need and you have Dupe to search Swap anyways?

Trag is here because this deck frankly needs to keep up damage-wise with the rest of the meta. Dropping a 3k beater over and over again is useful.

Foolish is just here to set up a turn earlier.

And it for sure doesn't hurt the deck.
