So basically if I currently have a Gate of Dark World and a Sillva/Goldd on the field if activate Eradicator Epidemic Virus and my opponent chains MST to the Gate, would my Sillva/Goldd still be a legal target for the virus?

I could be wrong, but I think the answer is:

Yes. It would still resolve. Because it's ATK still meets the requirement at activation, which is where you target your monster. I don't think EEV checks the Monster's ATK at resolution.

Well in this case, you're actually tributing Sillva for Eradicator Epidemic Virus' cost, not selecting it as a target.

This means that you're taking your monster off of the field during your activation process, and then passing to the opponent. They can chain MST, but it won't affect your virus card because you've already tributed your monster.

I forgot about that part.

So yes, by the time they chain Typhoon it's already too late.

I suppose if it was there turn they could claim priority and put MST on Chain Link 1. Would that presumably make EEV miss the window of which Sillva/Goldd meet the conditions?

Even if EEV was chained to MST, the outcome would be the same. You'd tribute your monster during the activation process & declare what type of card you wanna smite. Then when you went to resolve the chain, MST's involvement wouldn't effect this because the monster whos stats were in question is already gone.

Not once you flip EEV. By then it's too late. They'd have to preempt your EEV activation and hit Gate straightaway. Like they should anyway.
