2 Level 3 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 Level 4 EARTH Warrior or Beast-Warrior-Type monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position. Destroy that monster during the End Phase.

I feel like this card really gives a boost to X-Sabers. They haven't been a bad deck, just not a great one. This means essentially turns Tour Guide into a watered down version of Rescue Cat that's at 3, leaving you with a one card Faultroll and you still have all of the other tricks that Tour Guide has.

Last time I looked, there is nothing Sabers use that they really wanna bring out with Invoker unless I am missing something.

This cant get anything you would actually want and the only cards off the top of my head that it does grab are cards you wouldnt want to toss out unless you could get advantage in the first place.

It gets Boggart Knight, but that's not the important part. Obviously Tour Guide's good on its own, but it becomes one card that makes Faultroll live which is huge.

Honestly I wouldnt wanna grab Boggart and turn an advantage play into a break even play.

Then again, I dont play Sabers that often so I can miss the obvious with this deck.

Tour Guide + Faultroll = Invoker + Faultroll + Boggart + w/e from Faultroll's effect

+2

Makes Gottoms that much more live as well which is the best card in the deck. Lets you play 3.

I think the card is decent enough to warrant Tour Guide in X-Sabers. And it also allows the Extra Deck to hold Leviair/Zenmaines/Leviathan which is always a plus.

Konami is really enforcing the "Tour Guide goes in everything" motto. Even though said GX era crap was over and done with.

But we already knew this about the card...

This only makes Sabers viability tier 2, I know Im gonna get negged, but some people cling to decktypes like ex-girlfriends. (everyone that was tele-dad format back)

Like I think this solves the deck's biggest problem, consistency. The reason it wasn't doing well was dead Faultrolls and GECs. The makes them always live and gives all the benefits of Tour Guide.

I think Sabers biggest problems are Maxx "C", and Dinosaurs. Invoker doesn't help early game plays nor improve any bad matchups so I don't really see the point.
etc's trading section sucks but i trade on this other forum that doesn't suck and you can use money so go there and trade with me

I don't agree with that. Maxx "C" wasn't relevant when Sabers started not topping. It's like saying Maxx "C" destroys Plants, but if you don't suck it doesn't.

Well yes it doesn't give a massive incentive to play Sabers, but would you play Tour Guides along with this in a Saber deck now?

The magic of tour guide, it can even turn a deck such as koa'ki Meiru into something somewhat playable.

I keep going back and forth on this guy hard.

On the one hand, it's obvious the benefits he provides. On the other hand, he uses up a Boggart Knight (and I'm still heartbroken that they didn't make him level 4 or lower).

But the thing to say to the people who are nay-saying due to the fact that he uses up a Boggart is simply this - he does just what Boggart does, except at a lower cost to your hand. Rather than make a two-card investment for Faultroll like Boggart, this allows you to make a one card investment for Faultroll. The fact that you use up a Boggart to do it is really irrelevant, since you use up a Boggart to use Boggart himself, except in a less cost-efficient way.

if this was released like 103948023984 years ago it'd be super hype
exiled force
GEARFRIED THE IRON KNIGHT (for release restraint obv)

the fact that it summons it in defense position means fun stuff with goblin attack force/indomitable fighter lei lei is out :(

and year it can search KM Urknight who is pretty solid.

idk, I checked all the possible targets and nothing is very exciting. The only card Sabers run already is Boggart since the other possible targets are bad.

I understand the direct plays this card can setup but I still feel this card doesn't do anything for the core of the deck. It's just another cute play the deck may or may not utilize.

It forces you to commit, unless you want to go Invoker Boggart and end your turn. Cards that force you to commit to the field generally aren't too popular since it's hard to control the tempo.

In regards to Hoban's point, I'm not an avid Saber player but I don't see where this deck can bait out Cs besides bad players using it on Gottoms Emergency Call. If you Boggart and they C, that isn't in your favor at all. You lost 2 cards out of your hand and now your opponent can take advantage of such. You will have an awkward Emmersblade or Darksoul on the field to which you can bet your opponent won't be triggering either one of those.

When Sabers started not topping the power creep was a lot less relevant and a lot more decks could win. I don't see how this card neutralizes the fact Thunder King is being played more, Dinosaur, Dragged Down/Grapha, Master Hyperion, Maxx C" and etc all are being played. If you don't summon Tour Guide/summon Invoker you are playing the exact same deck from spring 2011 when it started failing (after generic updates to the deck).

I think this card is a boost sure .... just not that much of a big deal.

i thought the point is invoker+boggart+faultroll, lol

or rather, tourguide + faultroll in hand is all that's needed, and it's a 2 card faultroll instead of a 3 card faultroll which requires boggart/xsaber/faultroll

There would be many pants that need changing if that was possible. Hella nice +2 for 1 card in hand.

I was testing today with Sabers using Invoker. I went 4-1 in unsided matches against Plants, but I used Invoker surprisingly few times.
