so this is in no way an absolute plus one. i wouldn't run it, simply because you rely too much on having it turn one, your opponent not running entry hazard traps, your opponent having no defenses if you attack with it, and them not killing it on their consecutive turn for it to retain any more usefulness.
That is correct, and it's not an "absolute plus one", however it's pretty damn good. You don't rely on having it turn 1 necessarily, it's just there to dig towards Ninishi. Aside form Warning, commonly run entry-hazard traps aren't played, and Warning is hardly reason against running an otherwise good LV4. You don't have to take the risk of a Prison, you could just not attack, you still plus. If they take it down via battle next turn, then you made a 1 for 1 and searched the best card in the deck, if they have to kill it via monster effect or have to synchro/xyz over it, then you're in an awesome position.

1800 is definitely a beatstick right now, only 1 deck runs Sabersaurus. Rai-Oh is run frequently, but that shouldn't stop you.

Yeah, unless I had no other monsters in my hand, I'd love for my opponent to use their Solemn Warning on my Neutron

you mistake my use of the word absolutely, I was saying that, should it resolve, that effect is absolutely a +1, in contest to him saying it wasn't a +1. Obv, if it is stopped, it would be a 1 for 1. If I meant you were guaranteed a +1, I'd have said it was "an absoultey +1", rather than "Absolutely a +1". Semantics, I know, but important none-the-less.

Also important to note, there is no monster in the game that is an absolute a +1, since monsters are dependent on either being summoned or opponent actions. Meh.

It's still rabbit format. Some people do main Bottomless in fear to said threat.

True. They use warning for your synchro instead.

Still in the discussion, would this card be useful in any other deck?

True, but the point is that if your opponent wastes a trap getting rid of Neutron, then it's one less you'll need to deal with later

Also true.

But thing is, Karakuri deck is a combo deck. If your Neutron play gets obstructed, it will be difficult for you to collect the piece you need to go off.

Dunno about the rest of you who play Karakuris, but because it's a combo deck, I'm running 3 Merchant, 3 Cache, 2 of this guy to search stuff out. A moderately important thing to note, as well, is that Neutron gets over Tengu, and is just generally beatstick-y, which is a problem the deck has (Kuick isn't big enough all the time, tbh, and switches to Def mode when attacked)

Useful? Yes.
As popular? No.

Neutron was originally designed to go hand-in-hand with the Genex theme, as it is a Genex monster. But another use is to search out Black Salvo/Ally Genex Birdman for a Chaos-Machine based deck.

Nobody mains Bottomless right now. It's good against Rabbit but it sucks against Plants, is awful against Zektors, etc.

As for alternative uses of this guy, he's a LIGHT Machine for Eltanin.

Let's not take zektors into equation. During the time Karakuri saw success, it was still pre-ORCS. Decks that weren't spell/monster heavy still main Bottomless. From what I saw, during the last 2 YCS (Kansas and Brighton), Bottomless were still included in main deck, of course limited to deck such as Karakuri or Rabbit. Post-ORCS, maybe Bottomless won't be that appealing anymore. But then, post-ORCS I believe Karakuri will see less play. So will Genex Neutron.
