There are decks where you can get away without using TGU, but Wind-Up isn't one of them. It's about as necessary towards the deck as it is in DW.

Plus, if you have the 3 Sharks, 3 Rats, 3 Zenmaightys, 3 C, 3 Fiendish, etc, you should be able to get Guides as well...
etc's trading section sucks but i trade on this other forum that doesn't suck and you can use money so go there and trade with me

I really hate Soldier after testing. Wasn't worth it.

Anybody have any ideas for something to use in place of Tour Guide for a budget build because at this point I'm just thinking that the best option is another deck. I can't get it anywhere near as consistent without Guide.
Soldier is amazing IMO. But to each their own. I've been lent out 3 TGU and a Bus for Toronto Regionals this weekend, otherwise I was running Instant Fusion as my Tour Guide.

Hunter + Instant Fusion = loop.

A plumty loop that you probably shouldn't do even if you have it.

yeah there's literally no reason to play wind ups if you don't have tour guides + bus, they're pretty much what makes the entire deck

marauding captain, instant fusion, gilasaurus etc. aren't going to accomplish anything really

I don't even think those would increase the consistency as you'd need Hunter in the Grave or as the other part of Zenmaity.

Hopefully I can borrow a playset of Guides or just invest the cash into them and sell them afterwards...

I have to ask, but how is using Instant fusion to put a level 3 on the field so you can make Zenmaity plumty?

On another note... Yiffgurl better mean TGU + Sangan, because there is really no reason to use Tour Bus in the deck.

Tour Bus let's you loop more cards out of their hand which is pretty cool. Sucks if you draw it though.

It's plumty because you loop 3 cards out of their hand and leave yourself with only a Zenmaines. You've used all your power cards like Rats and Zenmaity so if they get past your Zenmaines, you have nothing left and will probably lose.

And there's definitely reasons to use Tour Bus.

After more Wind-Ups topping Mexico than any other deck, it's safe to say it's a tier 1 deck and I'm going to pin it.

I wrote an article on how to play Wind-Ups. It'll probably go up tomorrow.

I can't be the only person to believe that the deck is tier 2 without Hunter, can I?

How? They can SS a lot but otherwise they have no real win condition. If they loop you while you have a 1800+ monster, they usually can't even get over it without Leviathan or Acid Golem.

has it not been stated enough times how irrelevant the "loop" is to the actual deck

I've never read anything about that besides the very little bit in this thread.
