Psychic Shockwave
Normal Trap Card

Quote

"Activate only when your opponent activates a Trap Card. Discard 1 Spell/Trap Card to Special Summon 1 Level 6 DARK Machine-type monster from your Deck"

Jinzo & Blowback Dragon came to mind right away when I read this yesterday (Jinzo's obvious but Blowback's always been a retro favorite of mine), and while the cost & activation requirement do both put a damper on things, Psychic Shockwave still seems like a worthy sleeper at the least. I mean with Jinzo, you're essencially breaking even because you'll negate the trap you're chaining this to, and Jinzo doesn't destroy itself or otherwise die during the End Phase. It's simply special summoned, and doesn't have any sort of negative condition placed on it once that happens. Then when it comes to Blowback Dragon, the chance of destroying something every turn (any card no less) without any sort of cost isn't that bad either, as the possibility of getting cards blown outa the way can still put the nesesary pressure on the opponent.

The main thing that got me to like this card more is because you can now discard either a Spell or a Trap, making the requirements a lot easier to work with.

So, in short, if I'm running 2 Jinzo, I can see me running 1 of these. As for Blowback Dragon, unfortately, there is a world of difference between 2400 ATK and 2300 ATK. It doesn't help that it's Cyber Dragon bait since it's a Machine.

However, something else you have overlooked, Val....and that is Timeater. Drop it during your Battle Phase, destroy an unsuspecting monster, and watch your opponent's mind start to scramble.

This card is awesome and makes jinzo an even better card. Jinzo becomes officially side tech. Is this in the set with reborn tengu? I always thought jinzo was playable because of forbidden chalice, but this makes it even better.

With the advent of fiendish chain ruining games, this card becomes handy to summon Jinzo. It's best used when an opponent runs 3 fiendish chain.

The hype died down on it and it should be noted I have tested it and it works good but not every deck out there runs a lot of traps. You should never run 3, I'd try 2.

It's so situational and very strict

Plus you'd have to run like 2-3 Jinzo's, so that's 4-5 of your 40-42 card deck to fit it in

Would be really nice if this worked with other Machines, but Jinzo is an oldschool classic. I suppose it could also work in some weird Timeater deck.

Wow. Timeater....Blast from the past. Haven't thought of that in forever. Makes me want to build some goofy deck....nah, never mind.

You can find Timeater in the new DT06 (first-half).
