Rivalry of warlords + zombie world

If i have zombie world out and use rivalry of warlords can they still summon non zombies from hand or deck? because zombie world makes all monsters on the field zombie type but say they have a non zombie in their hand can they play it?

I would be inclined to say no, since Zombie World only effects the Monster on the field and in the grave. Pretty sure I'm right, but you might want to wait for confirmation.
