If my opponent summons wind-up magician and I activate CED and his in hand shark activates to be special summoned, will magician get his effect as well even though it leaves the field? Would this be because of a chain?

Magician is summoned, then:
- Shark's eff activate at chain link 1.
- CED's eff activate at chain link 2.
- CED bounce Magician to hand.
- Shark special summon itself to the field.
- Magician is not face-up on the field, so it cannot activate its effect.
