REDU-JP0(??)
Earth Spirit God Grand Soil 「地霊神グランソイル」
EARTH/Beast-Warrior - Effect/(?)/2800/2200
Effect unconfirmed: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except when there are exactly 5 EARTH Monster in your Graveyard. When this card is successfully Special Summoned, you can select 1 Monster in either player's Graveyard and Special Summon it. When this card is removed from the field, you must skip your next turn's Battle Phase.

Is Konami going overboard with the generic boss monster (like the Lightrays)? Or is this exactly what the game needs more of? A boss monster for every lower tier Atribute-themed deck?

Seems interesting, but I can't help but see this as an arguably worse Dark Creator, and even that doesn't see play. Like, you have 500 more atk/can grab from any graveyard/doesn't need your monster field to be empty, but you can't have more than 5, can only use it once, and you lose your next battle phase (your closest chance to make a comeback) when this dies.

Granted, at least those things make it balanced instead of broken or complete trash, but I guess we'll see what comes of it (if anything).

Well at the moment sabers is the best earth deck imho I could be wrong. This could be a dead draw in that deck. They should have at least made it searchable. Not all boss monsters are searchable but imo it is something they need to consider.

Reminds me of Gaia Plate, the Earth Giant which also doesn't see any play.

Now, Grand Soil is more generic than Gaia Plate, but it seems less playable due to requiring exactly 5 Earths in grave. By the time you have 5 in there without some specific milling, you're probably already in a bad spot.

Well he still seems more balanced compared to other bosses.

I think this could work nicely as a one of in a Rock Stun deck with that new Rock Golem guy as a sort of control. Grabbing Pachy from the graveyard would be a nasty combo.

However, losing your BP when it is removed from the field makes it kinda crap

X-Saber loves this card. This card is both free beater and free floater, as upon reaching the field he can special summon Emmers/Darksoul, giving more defense to your field. And if you happen to have another Saber you can normal summon, there goes the set-up for Faultroll.

Karakuri? I don't know, Karakuri works quite like X-saber. They have their own version of Emmers (Nisamu), Fulhelm (Kuikku), Boggart (Ninishi), and recruiter with small body (Inashichi). However, Earth Spirit doesn't boost the deck as much as it does to Saber. We are all aware that Torrent is @2 this format, so is Solemn Warning. Earth spirit can summon tuner from grave, and you can just summon another monster from your hand, however, if your play is disrupted the moment you normal summon your second Karakuri monster, it will be a minus for you. However, in Saber, you can Earth Spirit into Darksoul for a safer play and end up with even. I say this card works better in Saber.

Rock Stun can also gives this guy a chance. KM Guardian is already a pain to deal with. Even more a second KM Guardian.

The effect to skip your battle phase isn't very bad. Deck such as Saber and Karakuri can harvest advantage just from massive synchro play (field & hand disruption for saber, OR a lot of draws for kuri), while Rock Stun can just skip the battle phase and relax there with KM guardian guarding your field.
